Hey sorry for advertising but I just uploaded a little cover of "Perfect" by the lightning seeds, so please have a quick listen if you’re interested would be much appreciated!! :) xx
That would be awesome!! I remember being at the local record shop the day that "Cloudcuckooland" came out. I was in high school back then. Awesome sound from an awesome album.
That would be awesome!! I remember being at the local record shop the day that "Cloudcuckooland" came out. I was in high school back then. Awesome song from an awesome album.
Always liked this song, but first time seeing the video!! a brit-pop classic from the early 90's.. reminds me summers in Los Angeles listening to KROQ!!! love it!!
I love this song but hate the fact that it is not the original version of the song that was on the CD when it first came out. For some reason they went back and changed the song around and then from that point on this is the version of the song that is played. So sad
This version is not from the Cloudcuckooland album I've wore my record out and bought the cd and know it by heart. Would like to know were it came from like this version also.
This was my FAVORITE album senior year in high school. I wore it out playing it. Besides Pure, this was my other total favorite track. Really smooth, great way to introduce Electronica to the masses back in the early 90's. farmboy777, I think that Susanna Hoffs cover of this was a travesty. She was just never good after the Bangles broke up -- boo hoo! That's all I'm going to say.
Might all be innocently done but the verse sounds like its been lifted straight off Transvision vamps "baby I don't care" which like this song, it too must have fallen out the back of a horse......I therefore conclude this to being the same horse!
Ha ha! Susanna Hoffs REMADE this song from The Lightning Seeds. This song was popular from the Seeds in approximately 1991. Awesome CD! Many more great songs...Cloudcukooland. Peace.
Because every football yob in England bought it(there's only one thing worse than football and that's a football bore, saying that I'm a geordie,I used to dig football once upon a millenia ago.Now if I went home and declared that I'd be thrown on a fire as a heretic).I have to agree with skegsthomson, apart from three lions all their music(this track particularly)was first rate.Ian Broudie, clever and talented guy.
Happened that it was a new decade just coming (1990) and everything still reminding me the 80s just pissed me out, but actually it wasn't to blame those kids either, this song is fantastic because there's a slight but proud elegance in its own simplicity.
It costed me first to really understand this song there in 1990 (the original version, without that ugly break with that flanger voice) but the same happened to me several times with other songs from different bands. Now I agree All I Want is an all-time Modern rock classic.
Yes, I own CuckooLand and was very alive when B-Club came out. I was trying to describe how this song (and others) makes me think and feel. For some reason, I can always imagine characters in the Breakfast Club listening to this. Brodie's a pop genius.

Pop... pure and simple pop. So many of Lightning Seeds' tunes stay in my head for days after hearing them. Life of Riley, Pure, Three Lions, All I Want... these guys are absolute masters of the "hook" needed for a catchy pop song. Add to the tune a quirky lyric, and you have it. Hit after hit. Never get tired of their songs, and never leave them without a smile on my face.
