It's not because worship her and baby Jesus or that we believe He's still baby or something. Sure, even though that some cultures used the Mother/Child symbol. With a kind and gentle spirit, I want to ask you where in your Bible, if you're a Christian, does it say the Bible alone is the sufficient rule of faith? Nowhere in the Bible is there a direct quote that proves sola scriptura. In the same way, nowhere in the Bible is sola fide supported directly. Those concepts are foreign to the apostles, as are many of the ideas you have suggested. The Catholic faith IS the faith of the apostles, with deeper yet unchanging understanding. God bless :)
@helpyouseeit First, you're right, the Bible doesn't say anything about sola scriptura. As well it shouldn't. The idea of sola scriptura would deny prophecy. We true christians do believe in prophecy, although we test every spirit. Unlike you catholics who will believe anything that your "church" tells you. Second, Catholocism is NOT what the apostles taught. Tell me, where and when did any apostle pray to Mary? Or a saint? Or an angel? Nearly every practice of the RCC is not apostolic.

I was being a criminal and found I felt great guilt doing even the smallest bad thing. But when I did a good thing without even realizing I was being good I would get this feeling of being whole.

There are good churches out there, I'm not saying there aren't, but its no denominantion has got it 100% correct yet. Maybe I should have said it that way. @MrChristianBeliever The problem is that almost all modern christian churches are, in one way or another, born of the Roman catholic church. Hence the term "mother of harlots". No church has gotten it right yet. I don't attend any church, instead I head a bible study and worship in my home with my wife and daughter. Thats my church and thats God's true church.

You are mistaken. The reason why we also show Mary with Jesus as a child, is because it makes sense to for a mother to be with her son. It's not because worship her and baby Jesus or that we believe He's still baby or something. Sure, even though that some cultures used the Mother/Child symbol. Not only is Roman Catholicism scriptural, the scriptures only makes sense in the light if the Catholic Church. To Protestants, the Old Testament is a collection of stories. But, to Catholics, the Bible is alive and teeming with typologies. The Old Testament is New concealed and the New Testament in the Old revealed. But, only in the Catholic Church do the scriptures come full circle. My favorite typology is that of Rahab, in the Book of Joshua, and Mary in the Gospel of Luke. So, so beautiful...

With a kind and gentle spirit, I want to ask you where in your Bible, if you're a Christian, does it say the Bible alone is the sufficient rule of faith? Nowhere in the Bible is there a direct quote that proves sola scriptura. In the same way, nowhere in the Bible is sola fide supported directly. Those concepts are foreign to the apostles, as are many of the ideas you have suggested. The Catholic faith IS the faith of the apostles, with deeper yet unchanging understanding. God bless :)

@helpyouseeit First, you're right, the Bible doesn't say anything about sola scriptura. As well it shouldn't. The idea of sola scriptura would deny prophecy. We true christians do believe in prophecy, although we test every spirit. Unlike you catholics who will believe anything that your "church" tells you. Second, Catholocism is NOT what the apostles taught. Tell me, where and when did any apostle pray to Mary? Or a saint? Or an angel? Nearly every practice of the RCC is not apostolic.

(Read 1Cor.10:1-11) The bible also says "The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us & to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law." I was being a criminal and found I felt great guilt doing even the smallest bad thing. But when I did a good thing without even realizing I was being good I would get this feeling of being whole.

Mary was a good person and very special to God but that's it! She wasn't a goddess. She wasn't conceived without sex only Jesus was. The saints were very good and brave people and served God with their whole hearts, that doesn't make them demi-gods! Praying to dolls, paintings and statues is idol worship. If you want to stick to the bible, then these verses concerning the Sabbath may be of interest.
Colossians 2:16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
Acts 20:7 and 1 Cor 16:2 refer to the 1st day of the week which we know as Sunday.
The RCC has Mass every day as well as Sat.

No other church gets accused of being the Whore-only the Catholic Church. And it is understandable why: The Catholic Church is the largest Christian body, larger than all other Christian bodies put together, suggesting a prominent place in God’s plan. Fundamentalists assume, without objectively looking at the evidence, that the RCC cannot be the Bride of Christ.

It seems to me that these passages also refer to leaders in the church.

It seems to me that these passages encourage us to gather together to pray.

@MrChristianBeliever The problem is that almost all modern christian churches are, in one way or another, born of the Roman catholic church. Hence the term "mother of harlots". No church has gotten it right yet. I don't attend any church, instead I head a bible study and worship in my home with my wife and daughter. Thats my church and thats God's true church.

@MrChristianBeliever The Bible talks about a remnant church, and there is one church that fits this description and preaches the third angels message, and keeps the fourth sabbath commandment (as Sabbath is saturday and not sunday), and thats the seventh day adventist church

@HullSerb The SDA's are another cult. Ellen G. White was a false prophet. The SDA has added more verses into the bible than any other group or person, EVER. They have done this so that their bible supports their beliefs. And the SDA's are not the only ones who keep saturday sabbaths.

@joewar420 I never really looked into Ellen White in too much detail but from what ive read its compatible with the Bible. The SDA did not add or subtract anything from the Bible, I dont know what conspiracy site u got that from, coz on the internet there is 'evidence' for practically everything, so one has to be careful. The SDA is the only church that as a policy teaches that the RCC is the antichrist and that keeps the sabbath. If not SDA, which church is right in ur opinion?

@HullSerb How could you be SDA and not know about Ellen G. White? She is the founder of the SDA's. I don't go to conspiracy websites, I study, I compare, I evaluate. Yes, the SDA's are very much against the RCC, but so are muslims. Compare the KJV to the SDA's "Clearwater" Bible and you will see how much they have changed. There are online Bibles that you can use to do a comparison.

The rising from the dead on sunday has absolutely nothing to do with the Sabbath, and the catholic church even admits there is no scriptural basis for the change of day of worship. And remember the Law is everlasting, and Jesus came to fulfil the law.
So I will follow the Bible and keep the saturday holy, and u follow the doctrines of men, and see where that gets u

In any case, your arguments are biased based on your own understandings of scripture. I reject your understandings. That is not meant as an insult to you. I do not believe you have any authority to understand scripture any more than Oprah.
The bible is clear that authority is necessary and the RCC has that authority.

Second, the RCC is not the authority on scripture. It claims to be, but it is not. Third, the authority is given to me by Jesus. He tells us in scripture that we are all called to be priests.

I disagree with you that the RCC does not have authority and many others disagree with you as well.
Many Protestants claim the same authority as you are claiming but they disagree with your claims. Jesus did not give each person different authority.
Peter 2 indicated that all Christians are priests-but not ministerial priests. Paul tells us who has authority (Eph 4:11; 1 Tim 4:14; Acts 1:20-26).

Agreed, the bible does reference sinners in Rome in Rev. It does not make this reference of the RCC which happens to be located in Rome. Not everyone understands this but those who God gave truth know that Rev is not talking about the RCC.
Rev discusses the harlots of Rome who disobeyed Jesus. It also describes the Catholic Mass as worshiping God with all of the angels and saints. Dr Hahn didn't believe it until he saw it for himself.

@HullSerb By all means, if you wish to understand scriptures of your own accord, do so but please do not make false claims against the RCC.
The Catechism of the RCC clearly states that Sunday is the day of the Lord and it is scripturally supported of which you have said "catholic church even admits there is no scriptural basis".
CCC (II. The Lord's Day) 2174 - 2188 lists the RCC's position on this topic and it contains many scriptural references for its position.

That is your opinion but you are in the minority and there are plenty of self proclaimed Popes such as Oprah and Nancy Pelosi who claim they understand scriptures better than anyone else. I think you would agree that they are not correct.
There are plenty of Protestants who disagree with you as well. What gives you the authority to understand scripture more then other Protestants?

Agreed, God's word is above the word of men. That is not what we are debating. The bible is clear that scriptures are hard to understand and there are some who distort those teachings. You would not disagree with this statement.
You claim it is the RCC that distorts the teachings. Yet you are one of many thousands who also claim they have authority to teach from scriptures according to the word of God. Protestants do not agree with each other. 1 visible church.

Well you said they don't make the claim and now you are retracting your statement. As far as scripture is concerned, there are many verses listed as references so you cannot say that their claim is not supported by scripture. That is false.

Just like having pictures of someone. God ask us all to pray for each other so asking Mary to pray with us is not a bad thing. "queen in heaven" why is this wrong? Also, see what the OT says about prayer, it is only for God. When Jesus taught people how to pray, he only prayed to the father. Also, see what the OT says about the "queen of heaven" and those who prayed to her. There is alot wrong with it.

By Jesus' own definition, the RCC can not be the true church of God. It is, without a doubt, the Whore of Babylon.

@joewar420 im not catholic but they are no more pagan that any branch of christianity to be honest. think of the dates of most of the christian holidays such as christmas which is celebrated on the solstice(a pagan holiday)celebrating the birth of the sun and easter which is actually celebrated on astara(the pagan holiday)which is the fertility festivle of new life in pagan culture. the major christian holidays are celebrated on pagan celebrations, its not just catholics.

@joewar420 paganism began thousands of years before christianity during the paleolithic age. im not pagan but we have to be fair about it lol. im just saying that many christian ideals parralell pagan culture and paganism is so readily attacked and demonised by so many and in most cases the ones demonising know nothing about it, they just go by what theyve been taught to think. but its not opinion that paganism was around well before the catholic church and by thousands of years at that.
