This song is nothing like the Mike Rizzo Remix version. Try to find that and it will give you another oppinion. By the way. Jewel has some awsome songs :)
A remix can be just that. Markus Schulz's style is nothing like Jewel's. He just took a small sample of the original song and turned it into something completely different using his own style. Nothing wrong with that, man! It was an official release, so clearly the company releasing it thought it was great to add some variety to the Stand CD.
Plus, the track is pretty popular. No need to hate. :)
To recombine (audio tracks or channels from a recording) to produce a new or modified audio recording: ex. remixed a popular ballad and turned it into a dance hit.

As long as an element or two (no matter how small) come from the original (even if modified in some fashion), then it is indeed a remix. That is exactly what this is. It is Markus Schulz's way of turning a song into his own by making it a part of the music genre he loves. You can disagree if you want, but anyone familiar with trance/progressive/house will agree with what I'm saying.
Ironically, this is one of my favorite older remixes by Markus Schulz. It keeps his signature sound of deep, dark progressive Coldharbour vibes. If you don't like this song, then you probably won't like much of the progressive trance genre - and that's okay! Everyone has different tastes. I think this song is incredible to chill to. It takes me to a different place emotionally. I don't expect you to agree, but I hope you can at least understand. :-)
