Interesting he mentioned the air as a gas replacement because i recently became aware of Stan Meyer, who invented an engine that runs off the hydrogen in water in the 80's. Many company's offered him billions to buy his patten but he refused. He shortly passed away from food poisoning. you have to keep in mind the fact that humans are competitive in ever sense of the word. sports, games, business etc. its no different when it comes to money. what one person might call greed another might call competitiveness and that isnt "programmed". no matter what there always will be someone that wants to prove theyre better at whatever it is they think theyre good at. just like every other animal. lion and apes all have one figure that is above the others.

thats what you have been conditioned to believe, we have evolved into intelliegent beings and we are no longer apes. competitiveness if taken too far results in sociopathic behaviour we as humans are better than that. if we lived in a resource based economy things will be much improved, not perfect but evenually sociopaths will die out because we will have phased out the kind of society that allows competitiveness for work, money, power, etc they are all outmoded.

Peter Joseph's heart may be in the right place but he is speaking of an idealizm that can eventually and in my opinion will become tainted by someones disire to control.

Also some people i believe will not be able to handle such a shift in society, too many people will not accept a demolishing of our social order.

Some realize the predicament we are in and recognize we can do nothing about it.

I hate to sound like a pessimist but we will always have power hungry people You remove them.

I understand your point of view kinroi, but I consider this movement/idealism to be cross-generational. This type of shift would take a long time. What's important is that we begin to critically think and understand our connection to one another and the world. I also don't think people are born "power hungry"...those types of character traits are the result of one's life experience. Hopefully over time our human value system will shift dramatically in a way that is best for all of us. :)

People will absolutely want to control...they are called the elite and they control now, however take their power away through the removal of the monetary system and they will be unable to control because everyone will have the same standard of living. That is why they can control us now. As for people not being able to handle a shift in society, a shift is coming no matter what. Mass bankruptcy, mass poverty, mass world war, the depression is simply a transfer of wealth to the elite.

It doesn't matter if you remove the elite because they will simply be replaced. The monetary system allows for that. There will always be a rich class of people who want to control the poor. If you remove the monetary system and everyone shares the planets resources and technology, not only will the elite disappear, if someone wanted to control and take over, everyone would be in a position to stop them because everyone would have the same standard of living, and same knowledge base.
