  • @lt1hillinghoe its possible to hit 11s with bolt ons with an 03-04 cobra these engines respond well to any mod so full exhaust pulley and tune its putting down at least 440rwhp

  • good run between a lightly bolted ls1 and a cts-v. as for this funny argument going on lol, yea a stock 03/04 cobra is capable of a 12.8 . a pullied and fully bolted cobra will run a high 11 with sticky tires. Its been done many times before. terminators pick around 100 hp on tha stock blower with bolt ons, and upper and lower pullies.

  • @504stunta that is not the 556hp model CTS. It wasn't till 09 that the caddis were pushing over 500 out of the factory and that car in the video is an older body. It is 2004-2007 body style so it has 400 hp from the factory. The WS6 is not stock either so it is probly pushing more than 300hp. The caddis doesn't really shine till you put it on a track with some turns on it. That is where they are designed to stand out.

Someone said put that trans am up against the NEW CTS-V that is equipped with the LSA engine "and see what happens". To which I replied, then let me dump equal amount of money into the T/A as one would spend on said LSA equipped CTS. Which part of that makes me an idiot?

  • I don't doubt that car can run a 14.0. That's not that fast of a time, anyway, so why would anyone doubt it? If you were claiming a 13.0, then it would be suspect, but a 14.0 is perfectly doable with that car, engine and mods. I love how others always claim it can't be done, even when those of us have done it...

  • dude, not even a LX mustang which is a hell lot lighter than the mk7 run 14.0 with just--pullies,cai,e-fans,and cat delete would run that....not with aod...MAYBE a 5speed...MAYBE. the ford aod trans is very clumsy and the torque conv is not tuned for performance...its tuned for economy. there's no way you can run 14 flat with that car. 15 flat is more appropriate.

  • Let's see, so you go buy a cadillac for upward into the 50 thousand's and I can pick up a trans am for 10 easily. That leaves me with roughly 40,000 left over. If it were my goal in life to race and beat a CTS-V LSA car, as stated by the original poster i commented to, yes that 40,000$ left over from purchase can be used to be better and faster that the cadillac. Don't get me wrong, I would not do this, I would find a better way to spend 50k than on a trans am.

  • Not very, power to weight ratio with the correct engine combination/turbo the power to weight ratio could easily surpass a trans am. It's all about $'s spent. If I spent 10k on a trans am and you bought a 500$ civic and dumped 9500 into it, I would call it a win in your favor.

  • It is an LS6. How do I know you ask? That is the only engine that body style came with. LS6 is really nothing special. A modded LS1 will edge it out. Only a few minor differences in an LS6 and an LS1 and yes I know that ACTUAL differences. A modded LS1 even lightly, will be faster than a stock(sounding anyway) LS6 CTS-v.

  • illinisb if that was an LS6 than that CTS-V would have been a spec in the distance. You can't even compare the WS6 to the new CTS-V. If the guy in the WS6 raced the new CTS-V than it would be a VERY different race the caddi would pull on the WS6 and leave it in the dust. The caddi in this video was the older CTS-V wich had the LS2. You can very easily tell the new CTS from the older ones.

  • 2009 w/ 556hp and 550 foot pounds of torque. and it was 04 thru 07 at 400hp, none made for 08. And the 04 thru 05 w/ LS6 and 06 thru 07 w/ LS2. and in regards to the LS6 being a stronger motor then the LS2 w/ 430hp for 05!!! no proof of that, as they have identical stats... Ls2 has higher compression to take more boost as the LS6 has lower compression and cant handle it as well...

  • The CTS-V certainly outhandles the F-body cars. The V was designed with Nurburgring in mind.

  • You're definitely wrong on your assumption that T/A's can't take a corner. You've clearly never driven an F-Body or you would know how well the car actually does handle. The car hugs the road with no problem because of its almost perfect center of gravity.

    And the CTS-V wouldn't take an F-Body around a track just due to the weight factor. More weight means more G's, which results in slower turns, turning into slower corner exiting speeds and less top end. More space is needed to slow down too

  • Also, Stock to stock, both the CTS-V and the WS6 would be a drivers race with the CTS "possibly" traping 1mph or so higher. Both cars are documented high 12/low 13 second cars. Stick to SVT's buddy

  • The CTS-V has a very potent 400hp+ LSX motor. The same engine that goes into the SRT-8 Charger. Don't try to play it off like some sedan beat an LS1 Trans-am. Those are 40K cars and with over 400hp they should keep pace with a stock LS1.

    Plus, LS1 cars dyno 290-315 hp, so most are actually 325-340 bhp.

    Very under-rated motors.

    The WS6 is 3500 lb and has 320 HP.

    The CTS-V is 3850 lb and has 400 HP.

    3500/320 = 10.9 lb/hp for the WS6

    3850/400 = 9.6 lb/ph for the CTS-V

    Power to Weight can't tell you everything, but it can tell you alot. The fact is, the CTS-V is a few tenths quicker in the 1/4. Look it up. I drive a WS6, but if I could afford to, I'd have a CTS-V too.
