There are 2 ways to get that much money in the game, but I just used the console command to cheat for my gold. This made it easy for me to do the playthrough.

Add the "-enabledeveloperconsole" command line parameter to end of the "Target" field in the "Shortcut" properties that are used to launch the game. While playing the game, press ~ to display the console window. Then, type one of the following codes.

Press [Enter] to activate the corresponding cheat function. Note: You will not see what is being typed and may need to press [Backspace] to remove the "`" character if it is present in the console window. For the Steam version of the game, Right Click the "Dragon Age: Origins" option, and select "Properties" under the "My Games" Steam tab. In the General tab, select "Set Launch Options", enter "-enabledeveloperconsole" in that field, and accept it.
