  • Thats really dangerous! I have a Yellow Margin and can't put your hands in the tank when it wasn't fed for awhile.

  • what is the min. tank size for this type of eel?

  • lol who uses the term "narly" anymore?

  • where do u get them???

  • this type of Eel is known as Laced?

  • omg thats soo cute

  • he's very pretty your doing a good job with him. You seem more mature about keeping him unlike most dousch bags who buy these eels just to show off.

  • He looks like a giraffe

  • how many times you have to feed it or how many times a week and what are you using for food?

  • beautiful

  • omg this is SOOO CCUUUTE :| how much does it cost u ?

  • my old neighbors had a huge in-wall aquarium and they had a moray...I used to be terrified of it.

  • You need to train that eel unless its dead already

  • He's funny to watch.

  • lol you are a funny guy

  • what light do you use?

  • how many gallons is the tank and how much does it cost to feed these guys

  • U need a big tank for testa eels like a 200 gl and they eat evrey other dat mine eates siversides and fresh shrimp

  • brah i wish i could feed my eel by hand. lol. if i tried my eel would bute my fingers off! your eel looks alot more lazy then mines. you should try feeding him live food and watch him catch it. its alot more fun to watch. you can chgeck oit my video if you like

  • i love moray eels there fascinating

  • do they generate electricity like other eels? nice looking fish curious to know the tank size and eels size

  • @rajkerala33 only electric eels as far as i know

  • @rajkerala33 there is no such an eel that generates electricity powerful like that. The electric eel is the oly one and really, its not even an eel, its a type of catfish or knifefish

  • @rajkerala33 The only eels that generate electricity are freshwater electric eels

  • awesome ^^ its kinda like a dog.. if you annoy it enough it just attacks XD espicially amstaffs ^^ i just whistled and then it tried to bite my head off lul that was fun :D

  • I have one of these as well fed with plastic tongs. If you're risking the bite do it now. At four feet he'll take your whole finger and swiftly I assure you! For those wondering this eel has many common names, laced moray, honeycomb moray, tesselata moray. It's scientific name is Gymnothorax faviagineus. info can be found at wetwebmedia. Hand feeding isn't recommended with any eel as

a simple puncture by the teeth can cause sepsis or a blood infection that can become life threatening quickly.

  • oh fuck that :31

  • Hey,I caught a tape of an eel pretty similar to this o-o I reaaalllyy want to knwo what type of eel it is,coudl you go see te hvideo and tell me?My family si thinking fo buying it

  • in description it says laced moray eel

  • Why are you teasing him. Just give it to him. Then you wonder why he tried to take a chunk out of your finger.

  • Very, very pretty eel. He's going to get big too. I'd start using a feeding stick if I were you.

  • yo would i be able to put one of these eels in with my jack dempsey i really want a montarey eel

  • @giovanni4269

Moray eels live in saltwater. It would die immediatly if you put one in freshwater.

  • I hand fed my yellow head moray eel its 2 and a half feet and he bit me hard be carfull man it shredded my hand :P but beautifull eel i love it

  • Nice job man. Did you train him when he was young? I know that you can train them to be hand fed while they are still lil' guys, I had did that with my green moray and he loves it.

  • AWESOME!!

    It eats your fingers, whole.

  • the description makes me happy =]

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! :)

  • absolutely beautiful animal!

  • That looks like a Solana tank, way too small for such a large moray. Tessalata's are one of the largest.

  • bro thats badass

  • alright

  • My eel is dead! Becasue it climb out of the tank. He was 5 feet away from the fish tank. He look like it was abotu to go on but it froze and it died .

  • nice eel favriting this one what sise is the tank

  • haha i wish i could put something else in there. I did just upgrade his tank to a 100 gallon so i tryed to put in a broomtail wrasse and that didnt work out to well, he kinda ripped his face off! But now i have a really nice dog face puffer fish in there with him and the eel wont touch him. well not yet

  • freshwater or saltwater?

  • salt

  • how old is that sucker he is cool

makes me wish i had salt water tanks

  • why do u disturb the eel with that stick?? shove it up your ass eel teaser!!

  • he is using it so he doesent get bit

learn what you are talkin about

  • Damn!! you must be a genious to have discovered that!

  • Awesome looking eel. I'd like to see it in a larger tank but from the looks of it it's being well taken care of.

  • I have a mean Cinnamon clownfish that killed all my fish which are Yellow tang, Naso tang, Foxface rabbitfish, and 5 soldierfish and if any of you what a Bluelined grouper is I was thinking since my clownfish makes my hand bleed everytime I clean my tank do you think the grouper would do ok with it?

  • ill take your cinnamon clown and feed it to my eel!

  • mhmm ill look it up but everywhere I look it says something to the fact of, there Tesselata Eels or otherwise known as honeycomb eels.. Im kinda hoping ure right, cause I would love a eel that looked like that for my 75, but I cant put a Tesselata in there.. if a honeycomb is differnt, Id love to get one.

  • tesselata = honeycomb your right! i just put that so ppl could find it easier! Thats not what he is tho. Hes a laced or reticulate moray (gymnothorax permistus)

  • that is a beautiful eel man! coolness..

  • ..ok.. im now 100% that side your wrong, and Im right.. there the same thing, and can get up to 118 in. and there minimum size tank should be a 125, thats what blue zoo aquatics says.. but ive heard they need a 180 or more.. you have yourself a very cool tank. but these fish need more width and length, defintly not height..

  • The scientific name for him is gymnothorax permistus. A tesselata's is gymnothorax favaginus. Your right I do need a bigger tank especially since Im feeding him sardines! In fact i work at a fish store and we have a baby tesselata in right now and he looks nothing like my eel did when he was a foot long. If you really want to see what he really is, go get the Marine Fish Atlas by Dr. Burgess and look up gymnothorax permistus

  • tesselata eel = honeycomb eel.. im almost 95% sure they are they same thing. He isnt full grown he just 1. proabley doesnt have the room to grow or 2. They are slow growers. I am not completly educated on these eels but they are amazing looking. Whether its a tesselata or a honeycomb.. you got yourself a good looking eel. O btw you have more balls than I have sticking your hand in with a tesselata, they are mean as snake.

  • thats a beautiful moray eel it looks like its well taken care of, how many gallons does your tank have? and what tankmates does the eel have?

  • the tank is a custom 50 gallon. 24x24x20. and i used to have a scopas tang in there with him until he ripped his head off! so thee only tank mate i can have in there is that lil cleaner goby which is awesome to watch clean the eel

  • that would be a tesselata eel...

  • really....i would think your wrong...i have had him for 4 years and he is full grown...therefore not being a tessalata. tesselata's grow to be 6 ft. in length where as a gymnothorax permistus doesn't. plus he has different markings on his stomach. thanks for the info but your wrong!

  • Yeah hes right, when i went snorkling in Egypt we saw one just like that and he claimed that its name was honeycomb moray in English

  • im not an eel expert but i've read that the honey comb and the tessalata are the same

  • honey comb is its nickname

its full name is a tessalata moray eel

  • oo ic but then it is the same thing :)
