@yorkscouple Well quite ...NOBODY objects to rational security..alas , so much of it is illogical...But this piece is more about my own personal foibles...my knack of losing everything...forgetting crucial things like wallet .passport etc...that is what this poem is primarily about...set in an edgy background. Thanks for watching.
@yorkscouple In my case I don't think it would be possible for it to be painless and stress free. I don't want to check baggage, so I would go with just a carry on. I always carry a swiss army knife and multi-tool. I wouldn't be able to have those in my carry on. I don't want to have to have checked luggage for just 2 items. Also, I don't want to go through the full body scanner. So that would mean I get to be groped by a TSA agent. So I don't fly anymore. When I travel I take the train.
In the quest for safety we have allowed them to have too much power and now we are punished with the results of our own fears. We don't want anything to happen and we don't want to be searched. We are, as humans, two sides of our own coins...
@WyldeCards Thanks Wylde...and I do like your new channel...s'pose when you finish that pack you will more on to Happy Families...Snap...and the like...?
Oh you are so right on with this poem! It's ugly and intimidating and intrusive and frustrating. How in the world did personal hygiene items become the tools of terrorists? How did we come down to having poorly trained strangers be paid to look through our private things and touch us?????? Arrggghhh - with image and word you have yet again said it perfectly.
@Poemsapennyeach puh-leez ... you know I spent time this week having papers notarized, so I'm fresh with the needs of small people to flex their small powers -- haha!
Yup, very familiar with that one. Nicely done, Kristine. We are just cargo really - unimportant living freight in our countless millions. Few things are worse - except perhaps war, floods, famine and contagion. But what choice do we have unless we choose to practice the dark art of becoming excessively rich; make that our sole `raison-d´étre´? That way we could at least buy our own jets. I wonder why I find that so unappealing.
Every bit as relevant today as it was last year. Perhaps more so. And worth seeing again.

We all hate the hassle of airport security..!
But come on folks, if they made it less hassle and easier then something tragic happened who would we blame..?
Ourselves for complaining that much they changed the rules or perhaps the airport security for not finding the risk???
Somehow thing we would blame everyone except ourselves.
So come on folks, just plan ahead for going though security and it will be a painless stress free journey.

Travel must be exasperating for those who do it a lot these days ... it's only exacerbated when laid-back meets paranoid -- you captured it well.
