wow ! what an "all over the place review " - heres the facts - this film is beautifully directed , perfectly cast , perfectly written , and glouriously acted - its easy to throw together an "action film " with lots of explosions and stupid scenario`s , like most of the run of the mill hollywood films they produce these days , but if you truly are a "FILM" FAN , this movie is a fucking gem , tarantinos best MADE film by far , hes now up there with sergio leone..

Inglorious Basterds was a terrible fucking movie. It was way to talky and by the end of the movie i did not give shit if they killed Hitler or not I just wanted it to be over. The only thing good about the movie was Brad Pitt and that is the only reason anyone should see it but wait till it comes on dvd or tivo that shit so you can fast forward through French diner scene were they just eat cake for 30 minutes

Loved the review. Perfectly summed up Inglorious Basterds. I Had basically the same opinion, But I still loved the hell out of the this movie, but hey I suppose I just enjoy people talking.

i actually agreea lot with what this guys saying i loved the movie but, more of the basterds and certainly more of hugo stiglitz would have been good, the sections with melanie laurent where maybe over done a bit, but i alsoloved the bit with the projection onto smoke, also feel like i seen it before and in my mind i either seen it in twister, last action hero or some italina horror movie, but qt done itagain, maybe more action next time please

I recommend not looking at reviews before going to see this film . Make your own mind up . I saw it without seeing reviews and i really enjoyed it .

Tarantino needs someone who will stop him making films about making films. Does anyone think Kill Bill would have been as good if it had not been split in two? Origionally he wanted to present that as a three hour plus film. I saw the film yeaterday and I think that it will grow on me with time and think through the various themes, but it's not something that grabs from the get go. He has to get back to making commercial films - thats what made him successful origionally .

Though the violence was directly refered to it was not shown. Look at Butch with the sword or Mr Blonde with the razor. As an aside look at the character developement of both. Tighter editing would have helped. Splitting things into chapters does not help when all scenes flow into each other. Whats the point? Fiction and Kill Bill worked as they cracked along, Dogs worked cos it got straight to the point, Deathproof worked as it was self contained.

It's a film made at the wrong time in the wrong genre and another example of what happens when no one puts the brake on. The premise itself leans heavily on the Dirty Dozen, in my opinion Pitt does a bad job of being Lee Marvin and the rest of the characters have virtually no developement. The approach is bemusing - all Germans are Nazis and to show how bestial they are they have to be killed horrifically. Fiction was critisised as was Dogs but neither of the relied on violence to the as much.

And why is talking a negative? I'm sure for most Americans who went to see G.I. Junk, it is. But for those of us who are more evolved, talking can be quite enjoyable. Especially when its Tarantino's characters who are doing the talking.
