We at the tea party want to defend the freedom of poor people not to have health care. All that the working poor really want is the unalienable freedom of dieing of untreated cancer and these darn liberals would deprive them of this fundamental right!
We need to cover most Americans without rejecting their preconditions and ability to pay,or not. Denying Health Care insurance to those who needed, and can't afford it is
immoral and not Christian. Did Jesus reject sinners?
If we want Obamacare repealed, we actually have to TAKE ACTION and not just wait for somebody else to! We are American, and we have rights to freedom that we need to protect. Medical care is a big one, so make sure your Congresspersons and Senators know you're listening! Go to theRepealPledge . com and take action.
You are lying when you say that the American people have overwhelming rejected the health care bill. Exit poll manipulation does not create reality. The American people are about evenly split. You can say you want to repeal it, you can say you believe it is a bad bill, but quit lying about the percentages. But why do I bother your lies are habitual and profitable for you.
Republicans are insurance company whores. Please inform yourselves before posting. Check out the vocal republicans major contributors. You'll see a lot of money from insurance companies puffing up the wallets of these deceitful sodomites. Thats the only reason they tried to block it, and are now trying to repeal it.
Repeal and replace is just a slogan. Even if Republicans won every seat in the House and Senate up for grabs this Fall (2010), they would still be below the threshold of a 2/3 majority necessary to overturn a presidential veto. They're promising an impossibility and they know it.
@JeffreyMLicano11 It's a mathematical impossibility for the GOP to win the majority in either house this coming election, yet they're going to run on a slogan that states that somehow they'll be able to "repeal and replace". It's nonsense.
@JeffreyMLicano11 It's also a possibility that the sun won't rise tomorrow, but I'm not placing any bets on that.
I hope Gingrich does run, but I doubt he'd make it out of the primaries let alone survive a presidential campaign cycle. His much vaunted 'Contract With America' was a bullshit ploy just like 'repeal and replace'. The combined budgets of the 95 major programs that the Contract with America promised to eliminate have increased by 13% as of 2000, the year after Newt left congress.
@brandnutopian It may be unlikely but its not "mathematically impossible" actually some people think that it might happen, the anti incumbent mood is pretty Strong. I mean a Republican won in MA for peters sake. And as for the rest of your comment, how is it Gingrich's fault what happened AFTER he left office id like to know. And as far as not making the primaries you apparently do not read polls. The 3 most popular choices right now are Palin, Romney, And in a close third, good old Newt.
And if he can win the primary, and obamas approval ratings keep going down the tube with his downright awful policies, I think there is a chance that Gingrich could win. Hes not a long shot by far. Someone like Ron Paul or Jeb Bush, long shots, Gingrich not at all.
@JeffreyMLicano11 Who are those "some people"? Republicans? Well the Cleveland Indians think they're going to win the pennant every year too.
The "Contract for America" was supposedly adopted by the entire Republican caucus, who held majorities in both chambers of congress from 1994 to 2006.
So what happened?
The figures I quoted were from an article written in 2000 at the Cato Institute, one of the leading think tanks in the world, on their criticisms of the failures of "C for A".
No Support for this health care crap-bill. Replace it with common sense. Nothing is free and Free health care is Not everyone's right. The opportunity to choose and Pay for your own health care Is your right. Fire the Congressmen that voted for this in the next elections and Fix what they have screwed up
Kind of sad to recall that in the 90s Newt's congress was the closest to conservatism we ever had and only to be stabbed in the back and ripped into pieces by the Mccain-types "Republicans".
Newt had a house majority but he didnt get much of what he wanted at all. He was a gentleman who was honest enough to respect due process and consensus as a speaker unlike the witch we have today.
Obama has violated the Law by offering Judgeships, and "high ranking positions" inside government to congressmen in exchange for a "yes" vote on "Zerocare" .
Such Bribery is definately "High Crimes and Misdemeanors". No need to wait for 2012! After the comming rout in November, Impeach Comrade Zero!
@SINKUSUC I m with you-- Where did you get that info about Obama promising Judge positions? I need some schooling-up on whereto find this stuff. I check the Huffington post to get the bullshit, for example, and then listen to Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, etc Pls let me know where you get some of your info Thanks--SEAHORSECMD (also sub if you like)
Mr Gingrich, I opposed this bill from the get go. But you know better than anyone that it will be impossible to repeal it in total. The only option that any future Republican majority will have will be to revise it.
As with Social Security and Medicare, this entitlement will become part the third rail of American politics.
Well maybe not, this isn't a new government program, just a new set of laws further distorting the free market. It is possible to reverse. We'll see what happens in November.
Exactly, revise the bill--not repeal it. You know there are some of us who do work hard, and still cannot afford good health coverage.
Getting sick is nothing to be ashamed about. I have high deductables because I can only afford the bare minium. I'm even working two to three jobs. Last thing I want if I have a heart attack is to have collection agencies banging down my door demanding my all my goods. I can't help it I have a heart defect.
@oilhammer04 Revolution? The Republicans talk about repealing all of Obama's legislative accomplishments are asking for deep racial and cultural divisions that will not be healed. I guess they want a huge racial backlash from the black community and latino community. There a deep healthcare disparities between whites and minorities in this country. Other countries will turn against the United States and forever deem as a racist nation.
I myself am outraged over the ban of pre-existing conditions. As a stockholder in Cigna, I am going to see my portfolio go down the drain as these sick leeches run the health industry into bankruptcy. We spend all this money on treating the sick and they eventually die anyway. We need to draw the line somewhere.
