That was the first time I've heard this message. It was very powerful, and passionate coming from the very heart of a Godly man. Thank you for posting this, and allowing it to be a blessing to my life today. I'm seventeen, and my generation needs to have these precious sermons from the past.
for you doubters that think we have no "true bible" i would recommend the sermon HOW WE GOT GODS WORDS by brother jack hyles.he puts up a very good and i believe to be true argument that we do have GODS words complete and without error.neither taken away from or added to,and that is the KING JAMES BIBLE i am talking about.
Dr. Lee was a good friend to my father, Felton H. Griffin. He took Dr. Lee fishing in Alaska. I remember how kind he was to a small boy and other children when he visited Alaska. I never forgot the power of the Holy Spirit when I stood in his presence.
freemasons and shriners have taken over the southern baptist church, and preach from pulpits, how can they come and feast at the LORDS table, and go into another place in darkness and sit at the tables with devils, how can the LIGHT have communion with the darkness, how can sweetwater and bitterwater come up from the same fountain,IT CAN NOT MY BROTHER,
@MrPastorrodriguez This is true, but with each "translation" of the bible, words are removed and added. Therefore, the Bible no longer becomes the word of God. It becomes the opinion of man.
@epennin330 i disagree... so i guess u will be the decider on whats true in the bible and whats false. I trust in God to much to believe that He would allow his message to be fallible or have company with error. I could care less about different words in the bible the MESSAGE RINGS TRUE not by printed words but by the Spirirt. Your study is vain without God. ((John 16:13 However when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth..)) The Message will always be in the Bible
I couldn't sleep, so turned on computer and happened to get this video by Dr. Lee. What a relief to hear again a old-time preacher. He was Southern Baptist, but Dr. Lee wouldn't want to be Southern Baptist today if he were still with us. Also, I only accept preaching and my own reading from the King James Version, which the Southern Baptist Convention has tried to relegate 6 feet under. Also, the SBC churches have gone wiithout a doubt contempory. They have gone liberal!
@1rickmar - you wouldn't read from a Greek New Testament or a Hebrew/Aramaic Old Testament if you could understand it? God's loving message is not locked in an antiquated language, whether Greek, Hebrew, or Olde English - no it is translated into many common modern languages. Let's not think in terms of Southern Baptist or liberal, but as Christians - lovers of God and neighbors. That message comes across clearly regardless of the translation.
@1rickmar@ZitMyName - You are wrong on this one. Old-time Bible believing preachers have used the KJV as they were lead by the Holy Spirit, not by Westcott and Hort. Have you ever asked yourself why Catholics don't used KJV. I know why, and please check it out. I don't need to read from all the many and varied corrupt versions. Please don't let yourself be deceived!!!
Rose, you have entirely missed the point. Don't look at things thru political shades, look at them at face value and you'll see this message is a blessing.
@Rosegirl18 What in the world are you talking about? I think you must be just trolling around, finding older preachers that people have said were a great blessing, and leaving comments exactly like this one: "the misogyny is overwhelming." There is not one sentence in this entire message that is even remotely misogynistic. In a way, I am curious why you said that. On the other hand, I think it is pretty obvious you were trolling, and never actually listened to this classic, well-known message.
Where are all the preachers like this now. What are you doing today to tell people about Jesus. My quest for life is to "Talk about things that matter with people who care." Visit my web site if you wish. I have 19 lessons on discipleship.
He was an old-school Southern Baptist. The independent Baptist movement didn't really come into its own until the 50's and 60's, when the SBC's shift toward liberalism began manifesting itself.
I am sorry Sir, but your statement is incorrect. Dr. Lee never left the SBC. He was their president for three terms. When he left this life he left it as a Southern Baptist.
i have to disagree maybe you're thinking of the old SBC but once they started getting liberal he tried to keep them right and yes he served three terms but not the SBC we know today
Adrian Rogers was the last of the great Southern Baptist preachers, today they have let modernism and liberalism in . Today sound biblical doctrine and biblically ran churches with good authoritive preaching can only be found in the Independent Fundamental Baptist movement. Not popular in our time, not liberal, not contemporary and not politically correct but biblically correct.
@2Timothy4vs5 - Really? God only uses IFB preachers? Would you rewrite Scripture to say that "the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart" as long as its preached from a KJV in the halls of an IFB church?
Leave it to men to pervert the message. Many of the comments here lament the sins of liberals and commit the same without even realizing it.
@ZisMyName Only used IFB preachers? no, of course not, but they are one of very few that stand for the fundamentals without compromise and teach the full counsel of God's Word. The only need for a new version is for a new doctrine or removal of bible doctrines that are unacceptable to liberals and modernist.
What a great message! I heard Dr Lee preach this on two different occasions. You could have heard a pin drop because of the attention of those present. One of God's greatest preachers! I'm happy I got to shake his hand.
I've always enjoyed this sermon. It is one of the greatest. I have an old 78 record of it that my dad ( Rev. Earl Heath ) gave to me before his death.
I remember him preaching this message. This message is one that calls the hearer to make a decision. Thank God for such messages, not the tickling of the ears or the self help messages we so often hear today.
Thanks for posting this on You Tube. I think Dr. Lee would approve. I remember him from years ago, when I was a very young child. He had such a kind face for children and I was very taken with him. Perhaps this is hard to imagine, given the content of this sermon, which is fierce preaching indeed. Anyway, I'm sharing this with my younger siblings who might not be able to remember him.
That was great! I really like when he takes on the voice of Jezebel.
That's the desire of my heart, to break the cycle of the Jezebel woman or the strange woman in my family. The virtuous woman is a tall order! Only by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rosegirl18: misogyny!?
Have you red the Bible? Women are to be silent. So, the Bible is misogynistic as well?
You need to check your soul and repent.
