Basically the same thing but underground 2 has free roam and some more customization. So yeah underground 2 has an edge over underground 1.

but underground has a better story to follow and in my opinion will be more fun and is more fun to play ;) underground 2 is just racing against rivals who are slow very slow and in undrground you will sometimes freak out because of the difficulty in the end on easy ;)

You can try gaining an advantage at the start and block him whenever he tries to overtake throughout the race. Works well for me for one paricular difficult race which I can't remember who the opponent was

I guess that's a bluff.. I've completed the game 3 times with Hard difficulty for all races yet I've never unlocked any Lambo or Ferrari... And the cars in NFSU are mainly jdms, with a few other euro cars like the volkswagen gti. Don't think you will see lambos or ferraris in this game cos it's kind of out of the game's theme ;)

Nope, the rx-7 is only available when you complete about 70% of the game if i remember correctly. So I started out with the mx-5... Great handling but never on par with the rx-7 and the acceleration suffers a lot

this game was so good back in the days, still is, but the makers brout out prostreet which is a big humiliation to the rest of the nfs, its like grand turismo all over again:(

Well it isn't wise to use NOS before a turn since you are gonna slow down anyway. And I use NOS only at high rpms ;)
