Since I got this song with a fanzine years ago, I have to listen to it all the time. I love it!
But I have absolutely no clue about what the lyrics mean, and I even have an old school photo of kid Ludwig Wittgenstein and small Hitler by the schoolyard =)
Does anyone know? I'd much appreciate someone explaining the text to me
@Sercil00 As far as I can tell, the song is about Piero Sraffa, the Italian economist who refuted Wittgenstein.
Sraffa & Wittgenstein were on a train, debating W's idea that each proposition should have a 'grammar'. S made a Neapolitan gesture signalling contempt, brushing the tips of his fingers outwards from his chin, and asked "What is the logical form of that?" S's gesture convinced W that the pragmatic elements of language are indispensable, and S strongly influenced W's later work.
@incorporealUniverse Very interesting to know, thanks for sharing. I would never have figured that out, and I just feel dull listening to a favorite song so much without any idea what the lyrics might be about.
visti a bologna coi jesus lizard l'anno scorso... nn li conoscevo ma hanno spaccato! un suono che dal vivo guadagna na cifra... nelle parti più cupe sembravano certi killing joke...
