  • Best live performance EVER.

  • I remember my mate asking me who I preferred, Oasis or Blur? I said Suede.

  • is it meant to be black originally? just wondering..

  • Is this Blackpool 94 version? The song is great, but the live version rips the single to shreads.

  • @AshtonArcher I'd imagine from the exemplary sound quality and the place of origin of the user who uploaded the video, that this is a recording from a show in Japan, but I could be wrong . . .

  • this is everything

  • Incredibly great! I know that without butler this wont be the same but I would die to hear this at Coachella... the last time I saw the boys was in SF in 1996 - its been too too long!

  • guitars on this and guitars on asphalt world? tough decision.

  • @turemcha I know - Asphalt world probably just about I reckon.

  • bloomin marvellous, Bernard Butler is my favourite guitarist of them all - I mean it - you just listen to these 8 minutes plus to understand why... he always wrote the melodies in my head. I love this so much - would be great to see him playing his guitar again...thanks for posting this

  • this song gets my adrenalin going

  • This is one of the best songs ever written

  • I could listen to this song all day. I have the original 12" LP signed by all of Suede which will stay with me forever.

  • no words. eternal.

  • jesus christ! that was really fucking good!!

  • aw.. the guitar line just melted my heart!

  • wow :)

  • I'm sad to find out too late that Suede played the other night in London. I was fortunate enough to see them in Osaka in 2003 and never thought they'd reunite. Shame. So, there is hope, in any case, that they will come again.

  • @KotelShilo In case you're interested, they're playing in Denmark this summer, and in London in December.

  • i love bretts cockney twang in the kind of rap thing he does in the middle

  • omg! what an amazing version! thanks so much for posting this- great quality too- the extended ending is amazing- the lyrics, the vocals and the guitar work are all just brilliant- must have been a great gig to be at!

Now its roll-on march for the Suede reunion! cant wait! yay! :)

  • i remember my parents had been having a mental argument that night and listening to that whole '16 tears for sixteen years' made an impression on me. apart from that all i can really make out is that 'coming back like a fucker from the dead.' which is pretty outrageously good really with the music and all

  • bernard was the next moonage daydream. such a legend

  • Also This Hollywood Life is called "Trashy"...

  • Performance is a brilliant bootleg in terms of package, sound, tracklist and lucky me, I got a copy. The question remains though... What are the COMPLETE lyrics during the solo? "...16 tears for every year..." are the only lines I can catch...

  • wow i would have killed to be there. i was only 13 i think and listening to it on the radio. anyway that was the copy i had, taped off radio 1. i ask about losing myself because i always thought it was a much better version than on the album, bernard's guitar playing was fabulous as i recall. i was always annoyed when the title got changed to new generation.

  • i had a copy of this as well that i gave to a girlfriend and never saw again! have you got the version of losing myself from this too?

  • IIthink this was taken from the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Feb '94. I was there. Losing Myself (performed in the same show) became New Generation. Much preferred Losing Myself to New Generation.

  • OMG! Yes! This is indeed from "Performance". If Im not gravely mistaken, its the 11th or 12th song on the album. I loved this bootleg but lost the copy while moving house! Thanks for putting this up! I found a part of me again!!

  • I think this is from the "performance" bootleg so this would have been the second to last show before butler left so it would have been 1994.

I'm still trying to find an instrumental version of this track that said "NYC soundcheck 1993" or something to that effect, you can really hear the guts of the guitar parts without the vocals.

  • OMG! what year was this?

  • @x06022 early 1994
