Hey night flyer, well i just got my t-28 and love it, the guy at the shop said the rtf controler was just as good however he didnt know if i would harm anything by useing those 500mah, 3.7 bateries. Did you have to change anything eles??

Would you suggest this for a first time airplane pilot? I fly helicopters usually but am looking for a trainer that when I get more comfortable can just start doing 3d with it.

@mrpuddlemrpuddle most of the time they say start big. I started with this and I'm glad I did. If you can fly this then you can fly the bigger airplanes. It is pretty much crash resistent. I have crashed it into the ground from 100ft into concreat and only broke a little foam. I think it is great for beginners.

Always love your video's Dave xD! Would you recommend this plane for a beginner (with a little simulation practice)? I live in hawaii/oahu and I'm looking for a simple easy to fly plane that doesn't need a long runway and landing area to fly it. I'm limited to public parks here that don't really have much flat runway/landing surfaces, just mainly grassy areas at most.

I don't get 2 minutes flight time out of either of my original sized PZ batts. After landing, the engine will run again for another minute or 2 if I don't run it hard, but that's it. How do you charge the larger batt? thx

I bought one of these batteries today and put it in my micro T-28 and while it does give me 30 min of flight time, the responsiveness of the plane is a lot slower. The added weight really slows it down, but it isn't so bad that it won't fly. Again, not bad and is actually great for a newer pilot as it makes the plane more docile. I had to carve out a bit towards the back of the plane to slide the batter back about a half inch as it was nose heavy after putting the 500 mAh batter in.

Another great adventure from the NightFlyyer! I was out of the hobby for about 30 years and got a bug and purchased a Blade SR. Since then I've added an MSR & B 400. Still working on CP flying, but I get the SR up and down without needing a basket after flight! Recently I saw Night Vapor and fell in love! Never did any night flying before and it's really a gas! Last weekend I purchased the micro T-28 and love it. It's going to bet my 1st "lights" project. Love your vids Dave! UR a great guy!

Great flight time of 31 minutes but the little brushed motor will not like running for that long for each flight. More so for warmer climates.

@starcraftluver62 Shouldn't have thrown it away, the electronics can be used for any number of DIY projects using construction foam like Depron. If you broke it in two days then you needed a trainer to start off with like the HobbyZone Cub.

ok. So I bought this plane and the rudder was locked in place and did not move. Returned it for another and took it out today to fly. The motor shut off mid flight multiple times. Thought it might be the battery so I put in the more powerful one I bought. SAME outcome. continued to stall out in the middle of the air and I had to continue to land with no speed at all. My question to you is what could have caused this? It is very cold today but if that was the problem why would the servo's move?

WOW!! 31 mniutes?!!! Amazing!!  Do you have some tips to increase the flight time on the larger T-28?? I have all the PZ micros, and this was a great tip!! So that's where the machine guns go... well, the cowl on the larger one is a separate piece, so that could cause a problem..Any suggestions besides tape? I'm thinking of mounting those with pins to the outside of the cowl. I just picked up the large warbird lights from tinybritelights. You have great vids. keep going!!

Hi Nightflyyer I just bought a micro T28 today and I also picked up the Eflite 500 battery. I found out that they also sell a little adaptor that plugs into the original battery plug in the plane so I do not have to solder an additional plug in the plane. I can't wait to fly the plane but it's raining here on the west coast. I have the large T28 I fly all the time so the little one should be fun too.

@traxxasrc97 Heli radios typically are not set up to fly airplanes due to mixing. I think you need the rtf version. Then, that radio would be able to be used with other similar planes in their line, if you were to get BNF models afterwards.

I have soldered the plugs from a couple of msr batteries onto the 500 mah ones, this should be ok i think?

it does make charging them fiddly but I have so many of the smaller batterys and also a paralel adaptor so I can plug in 2 of the tiny lipos

Hi Dave, Awsome flights as usual, I have also installed the TinyBrite lights (navigation set ) to my PZ micro P51, the red nav packed up after a short while so I emailed TB lights asking for spares and they sent me a new set to the UK free of charge. outstanding company... :) . Flying at dusk brings on a whole new experience and its all thanks to you , I have added Lights to all my Models including , Heli's, planes and Nitro car. Cheers Buddy

Hey Dave, have you had any problems with the micro servos bickering too much? i noticed that i will see them sometimes twitch with no input.

@BOBKB3NZX No problems. In the early days servos were actually designed to jitter at center, to guarantee they would move when you gave input. The wipers on these linear servos are very sensitive, so just the slightest vibration or pressure on a surface will have them chatter. Not to worry.

Fab video Dave,have the big trojan and love her,not getting the lil t28, I have the lil P51,Sukhoi & Xp,the P51 is a night flyer, learned to fly with it & is rough(fine at night).Its past it,taking the tbl of it and putting on old Sukhoi nice mg lights on cowl. I have bought 2 of the 500 mAh bats after watching your first experiment soldering tomorrow! Inspiring vids as always,20+ minutes flight time, I cant wait, I already fly them in windy conditions, the extra weight should help alot. ~S~

@jaygdav I am not paid in anyway or affiliated with parkzone but i can tell you I love every parkzone plane I have, they are not perfect (nothing is) and they are not really that cheap but every one has flown right out the box, no problems. Thumbs up from me! You can see me crashing my micro sukhoi and p51 and other models in my vids, pilot error, lol. no crashes (touch wood) with my pz trojan (big one) or my only nitro plane. I started a year ago.

Nice spot as usual, have been enjoying your flights (especially the mailbox jet one ) just kidding will be picking up my BNF Mini T 28 and the F4F today as well, have a look at my Aerobird 3 wing repair\reinforcement Vid after my learning experiance with the folding wing lol,something you do once, the repair has been stellar and have been wringing it out hard to see if it will fail and it will take anything now, it was a cheap repair (less than 3 $) and a bit of time. nice video

11 mins seems long enough to me...my belief is the motors last longer when they are not pushed to hard and don't get as hot...i may be wrong though

@3255959 I did not increase voltage which would make the motor run hotter. All I did was increase the size of the "tank" from 120 to 500. These motors are air cooled and I do not expect any failure.

@skiddy8619 In 50 years, many. (See my RF 4 crash recently) All were lessons well learned, as that is the only way to get good. I am using 2.4Ghz Spektrum radios and this tiny plane would disappear from sight long before it will run out of range. And if you cant see it, you cant fly it anyway! lol. Thanks for your comments.

@bobmaxiao AMA safety code restricts you to not flybehind you or over spectators. So we keep the wires behind us most of the time. Otherwise with years of practice, you wont hit anything....except a mailbox now and then. LOL.
