this was definetly in the late 70's I remember watching it on a saturday morning show They aired it with superman and justice league in a block the 68 and 69 season of batman was live with adam west and burt ward
"I want one-billion dollars in gold, one-million dollars in platinum, five tons of crunchy peanut butter, 20 crates of twinkies, Bat-Girl's measurements and nude photo's of Alfred the Butler!"
Batman can't just do a frickin' drift on his car without calling it a "bat turn". You, sir, did not invent the car maneuver described, nor do you own it or is special because you fight crime. I expect an apology, and non of that "I'm a fictional character" hokum with me!
What a great trip down memory lane! Thanks for posting this.
I was 6 in 1970 and I used to watch this every morning before going to school. And now I catch it on Boomerang now and then, and it's just as much fun to watch now as it was then.
I also remember watching the little mini adventures with The Flash and Aquaman and sometimes they had The Atom too.
'batman we'd better get a plumber' 'no robin, we have to get to the batmobile' LOL! or 'batman the toilet's clogged up' 'quick, to the batmobile robin, this sounds like the work of the penguin!'
If you notice at the beginning Batman never bothered to unfreeze the two fishermen (I think they were fishermen) who were frozen, only the 3 policemen.
fully agree with ya, they completly ruined his character in new adventures and his sad/happy ending of saving his wife and leaving her was the perfect ending to his characters story arc. they used him just right in the original animated 90s series
Watching this made me realize what an astounding job Bruce Timm did in making Mr. Freeze a real character. It's truly amazing what a creative person can do with such a moronic joke of a premise.
And is it just me or does Bruce Wayne look like Gregory Peck in this.
I had also read that Olan voiced BATMAN on radio, too. I know that Olan was a radio actor, his biggest role being on the show THE FIRST NIGHTER PROGRAM. Olan also appeared on many TV shows as a character actor...he was the choir master in the famous episode of ANDY GRIFFITH where Barney tries out for lead in the choir.
Soule replaced Les Tremayne (who later plyed Mentor on "Shazam") on "First Nighter." His earliest radio work was on Chicago's "Wayside Theatre" in the late '30s.
This cartoon parallels the Batman live-action episode with Otto Preminger as Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze's German accent, completely shaven head, one billion dollars or all of Gotham City gets frozen, others I can't think of right now.
It's Saturday morning in my mind. Watching this, I can still taste the Cap'n Crunch as it was 40 years ago...when it was still good, before they changed the formulation and the taste!
I'm pretty sure the freeze gun can't work under water. Good thing I didn't know better when I was little.
