The remake of hawaii 5-0 is a load of bullshit. CBS clearly has a bunch of aasholes at the helm to allow such a crappy remake to be aired. The original will always be the best. The new cast dresses like a bunch of hobos and lacks professional police investigation. CBS, fuck you for what you did to 5-0 with this shitty remake. Thank God Jack Lord is not alive to see it!
In my opinion, Jack Lord (Steve McGarrett) was the man who set the standard by which all other TV law enforcement characters are measured. He was (and still is) the top of the tops.

The new "Hawaii Five-O" TV show is a great tradition of a classic that can not die forgotten. I felt, at first, that it was disrespectful to try an remake it, but I actually see that it is a new ground for a classic. You can always remember that it had a predecessor that began the tradition and it gives the new genre something to watch and relate to. Besides, McGarrett and Danno will live forever in our hearts...like Lucy!
Jack Lord will always be one of my favourites he is one of those special people who get even better looking as they get older and he had a wonderful charm about him sadly missed...

@soaps2011 : Jack Lord had 'gravitas' - He just naturally radiated both strength and compassion. If you ever have to call your '5.0', he's the kind of man you would hope heads the case. I have also wondered what he'd think of the remake (which has been made with alot of respect). I imagine he would think Steve and Danno were good officers, but should try not to be such show offs... and he would have loved Kono- He always had respect for women and would have enjoyed being her second father :)

Just had a burst of happy crying.Haven't happy cried this much for a long time.(off topic,lol,)& had just finished reading a page from,"the Peaceful Stillness of the Silent Mind."by LamaYeshe,a thought about,why perspective & feeling doesn't concurr(match)came to mind,then I clicked on this video & it dawned!,with someone who never met their father(until an older age)watching McGarrett was like watching an"ideal father" figure.(you know the home rules,blah blah blah..lol.)

I grew up watching five O. In my opinion it was and still is the best cop show on the tube. I loved the cast, Steve, Danno, Kono and the rest. I have watched the new one, its OK but nothing will ever replace the original. Perhaps Jack Lords legacy is the 40 million he left charity after he and his wife died. He was not only a good actor, and the only Steve McGarrett but most obviously a truly good person.
The original was the best. There's no replacing it. This video should have been longer! There's only one Steve McGarrett, and he was played by Jack Lord. No one can take his place!

I’ve come across some idiots on the Internet Movie Database who criticize Jack and say he was wooden, stoic, and was too perfect. His Steve McGarrett made mistakes, showed emotions, was framed several times, shot many times, blinded by a bomb, and nearly killed by a bomb twice. He was almost paralyzed in a car accident, and lost his nephew to cancer.
