@kiranmutti - If Three sent you a normal SIM and you cut it down to size then maybe the contacts aren't aligned well.

If they sent you a Micro-SIM then it seems you have no service in your area, or the iPhone is locked to another company.

@Steelcurtain6291 - You'll need to unlock your iPhone if it's locked, I'm not sure if you could use for example a T-Mobile Spain SIM in your T-Mobile US phone.

And a pre-paid SIM with no minutes or credit goes for free or £1 most the time in the UK.

my friend just got hers for christmas so she went to the store to get it set up and stuff and they kept the little key. I tried to use a paper clip but i could get it to work. i am not expirienced with the 4 but i have had a 3G and a 3GS for quite some time and paper clips usually work for me. What else can we use if we don't have the key?

@pastacion - I paid £499.00 for my 16GB White iPhone 4S. I'm quite happy at the prices, as they are not as unfair as MacBook and other Apple product prices over here, even when accounting for sales tax increases and shipping, duties etc... MacBooks over here are usually much more expensive than in the US.

At least it keeps them moderately exclusive! :P

@jaysean54 - I'm not sure if I can help you. Just make sure the SIM is flush with the SIM tray and insert (like I did in the video). It's difficult to remove the tray first time, but it shouldn't be that difficult to insert the tray again.

@SilentValtiel8 - No, it should be completely fine. Removing the SIM card will just stop your phone from being able to make / receive calls and texts. Swapping the SIM card for another will change the iPhone's number to a different one, attached to that SIM card.
