  • A quick tip: I would add a little bit of sugar and almond powder at a time, so mix and add, mix and add, mix and add. That's a little bit easier than adding everything in at once.:)

    I would like to try to make this for Easter and I don't know the conversions from grams to cups. Cause I seen online that there are different ways especially when using flour and sugar their different.

  • Oh, I never thought about just using nutella as the filling! That seems smart! I guess you could do that for cakes, cookies, or macarons! Anything really.

  • I just made them... Didn't turn out so well... The recipe is ok, no fail (I figure out is better to let them rest a moment in the pipe. sooo much cuter!!!!), but when I pipe them out once they were sooo thin and when I tap the owen plate they flattend a lot more... and hat to pipe them out AGAIN (but letting them rest in the pipe....), After they went perfect, But no feet... Too sad... but my macarons always stick in the paper I believe is the paper, what can I do?

  • You did a really good job. Was the texture grainy because of the almond meal? Can almond meal be sifted or should it just be processed more? Thank you, you made it look easy :)

  • @cherrychuckles Thank you! :) Yes the texture was grainy because of the almond, I should have sifted it (nowadays I always sift it). Even if you buy almond powder and don't make it yourself, you still should sift it because even the smallest lumps will show and make them look grainy.   • Hi. I find your video is very helpful for a beginner like me. I haven't tried yet, but I'm very confused with all the recipes and tricks on the internet bcos it said that to make macarons is very tricky with the technique to beat the egg white + sugar. How long should i beat the egg white until I can add the sugar into the mixture? thanks for answering!

  • @tracetis Hi! Hm I understand your question but it's kind of difficult to explain... it's very much indeed about experience, you will learn by doing it. But I will try to explain! Whip the eggwhite by itself until its ALMOST meringue-like, this should take you about...I don't know, a minute or two? If you look at my video you can see the texture I'm talking about when I'm whipping the eggwhite, That's what it should look like. I hope this helpen?! Don't give up, you'll get it right!

  • when i made them in college, we added the colour in before the almond powder, much easier.

  • @syazbenadams they are very sweet, at least with nutella filling. I guess you could try different fillings that aren't that sweet =)

  • @saudari89 You can take some almond and put it in the oven about 15 min. and then you can put it in your food processor until it looks like powder.... if you understand

  • @jannmechille hmmm difficult question.. I wouldn't exactly say "melt" but.. they are very yummy =P I think it depends on your personal taste, some people say they melt in their mouth but I don't know.. I think you have to try them for yourself to decide :)

  • @NimSudsiri hmm, it could be the filling? sometimes the macaron absorbs some fluids from whatever filling you use, so that could be the reason

  • What size piping tip did you use? Loved the video!!! Many, many thanks! One piece of advice: often useful to tie a knot in the top of the piping bag: if your a klutz like me, it avoids a lot of macaroon paste everywhere.

  • @leana616 well you can make them any size you want, if you want bigger feet, then just turn the heat up and the batter will try to "run away" from your macaron in the owen, and you'll have bigger feet. if you want the smaller feet that don't stick out, turn the heat down a little bit and this is what you get. got it?
