  • seems like he gave up on doing this, haha. lack of effort? <-- lack of passion?

  • nice video......oh btw for spanish speakers, it very easy for them to learn vietnamese when compared to english speakers. spanish and vietnamese share alot of similarities.

  • Spanish and vietnamese are not even remotely related. spanish is a latin based european language. vietnamese is astro asiatic langauge. the only similarity is that there are a few loan words from french. but that only represents 3% of the vocabulary and zero percent of the language. i was also raised speaking spanish.

  • lucirtz there is no data at all to confirm that spanish speakers learn vietnamese faster. yes, adjectives come after nouns in vietnamese but thats it. no other similarlities in structure, none at all. have you studied linguistics or language acquisition? i have never heard anyone make such a strange statement before.

  • @brooklynmonk1 :

to correct the idea of lucirz, it is easier for VNmese to learn Spanish than to learn english or french. Not another way arround.

Iam VNMese who can speak english, spanish and Italian,i can tell you that the that 90%of the Italian's spelling or pronouncing are similar to Vietnamese, and 70-80%of spanish's spelling and pronouncing are similar to VNMese too. That is why when i may not understand a new word in Spanish or Italian, but i know mostly how to wite it when people speak it

  • @brooklynmonk1 :

    *continued*

Vnmese language's rule of combining consonants and vowels and tones make it's difficult for sanish or italian as same as any foreigners to learn, but the way the individual consonants vowels pronounce the same. So a simple alphabet combine in vnmese will be spelt the same like spanish(eg: a,e, Ti, Bo,),but when it is complicated (eg: hien, nguyen, phuong) it's different from other 2

It took me 5 year to speak English, but 1 or 2 year to influent Spanish and Italian

  • @brooklynmonk1

like your name for example, Antonio Graceffo, the way a vietnamese person spell your name will be the same as it is in italian or spanish. Guess your ancestors are from either these countries too, or at least from mediterranean sea, even when you may live in america whatever. But i guess 80% possible you are Italian originally. Am i right?

  • @21thuy Where vietnamese would is a category 3 language and Spanish is category 1 for an English native speaker, both English and Spanish would be category 3 for a vietnamese speaker.

  • @brooklynmonk1

    pretty much.

first of all: the fact that vietnamese is tonal makes it incredibly difficult for speakers of western languages. spanish is also not tonal. next, the wide variety of vowels and sounds in vietnamese is difficult for westerners. spanish only has five imperical vowels and rougly less than 20% of the total sounds of english. so by that logic, an english native speaker has an advantage.

  • spanish grammar and vietnamese grammar are no closer than english grammar and vietnamese grammar. vietnamese has registers of speech and usage, spanish doesnt.

if i missed something please explain it to me.

  • @lucirz What the fuck are you smoking, son? Vietnamese and Spanish are way different languages. Unless I'm missing something, which I doubt, then tell me the similarities.

  • :) nice

  • This seems to be not only a very interesting language learning technique, but also a fascinating way to learn about Vietnam's history, which is rich in tradition.
