I have this mouse and I Disagree with what he had said, It is very durable and does not feel cheap. The plastic is actually thicker than a regular mouse in most parts, nor is it cheap. Their is a metal plate at the bottom balancing the mouse (not the weights). I would recommend buying this mouse for the price it is IF, you are going to find use out of it, this is not a regular mouse, its very expensive, but very powerful. :)
Well, I've had this mouse for about 6 months and I loved it. I love a heavier mouse so that when I'm sniping any extraneous movements aren't a problem. The thumb rest and pinky rest are awesome though, any time I've needed to snipe someone really fast and I've scrolled, my finger always caught the table as I was moving and f'd me up. Sadly a couple of days ago the laser died, fortunately for me I work at bestbuy and ordered a replacement under MFG warranty for nada :)
I've had it for a few weeks, sadly I didn't find it comfortable at all. In fact, I felt pain in my arm/hand after the first week. I also lift my mouse occasionally while gaming, its weight because of the metal frame and the twin lasers unresponsiveness after lifting completely messed that up. Otherwise it's a pretty good mouse. Can't wait to replace it with a Razer though.
So highly recommend trying it out first because it's very different from the "traditional" mice you're probably used to.
I HATE THAT FUCKIN THING!!!! I wanted it sooo badly, i hat to order it half way across the world to get it and its the worst mouse ever. It does shit you would believe, it fuckin moves by itself. Every little dust cluster on your tabel irritates the fuck outta that mouse. There is not a single hour the mouse is steady. I looked up some forums and there are tons of people who have the same problem. First i had a rat9 and thought its cause of the wireless interference but the Rat7 is the same shit
@LegendarySilverWolf the fuck?! why are you comparing graphic cards with gaming mouse? they serve two completely different purpose! but then again you're right.. what's the point of having a badass mouse? Its all about McDonalds..
i hate your videos cos when i want to pause i click on the screen and it takes me to your youtube page and when i click return button it had to load again and while typing this comment the annoying ad reloads and i had to scroll up to skip it and resume typing this comment. :)
something seems wrong. it feels sturdy when you use it but it also feels like its going to break soon. either all of the RAT 7's fell like this or its just mine. the regular scroll wheel is also not so good it wobbles a TON. its big and fits my hand perfectly but a Razer Orochi, which is much smaller, feels even more comfortable? the software interface is confusing and weird at first. over all I totally wasted my money on this thing, to bad it was a gift and I cant return it. stick with Razer.
@pownifications awesome I might save up and buy it cheaper off some website, but I don't game that much since my laptop sometimes can be spectacularly sh**
I don't agree with the review at all. It does not feel "plastic", it's comfy and rugged (maybe I just have a newer version than the reviewer). Also, when he said it has a low profile and he cant "get a good grip with the palm", it just made me think "what a noob". Every top gamer in history claw grips the mouse like a boss, which actually makes RAT's low profile perfect for anyone who takes their gaming seriously. It's also doesn't feel bloated with it's buttons. The perfect gaming mouse imho
@SpamBanjo I don't know who you're referring to when you say "top gamer" because no professional gamer uses a RAT7 (im referring to FPS and RTS games). They stick with either a Razer or Logitech because they have arcs in the design that allow any hand to distribute the weight evenly throughout the entire mouse which allows for grip. The RAT7 lacks that arc so it doesn't feel natural. I tried playing BF3 with it for a couple days and I just couldn't get used to the low profile(i use logitech G500
@phamily I love the way you talk about professional gamers and palm grip in the same sentence. You clearly have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
You attempt to speak for an entire community based on 2 days experience and your own personal opinion. You really should socialise with real people more, you might actually learn what high end gamers look for in a mouse.
$100? really? I was hoping for "Here you can see two audio and microphone jack, and over here is a 2.0 USB port", I mean wtf man $100 is worth like cheap mechanical keyboard with feature and such. Just go for deathadder or Zowie EC2, RAT mouse must be jokes, for the price.
do you know what my gaming mouse is? a fucking cheap 15$ mouse because I don't need to waste 100$ in a mouse when I can own the Fucking game with a cheap 15$ mouse lol
@TheViolander useful? are you kidding mah boy? why tha fuck do you need a 100$ mouse? are you that bad at gaming to say that a 100$ mouse is useful and that with a 15$ mouse you will suck at gaming? I DO hve the money to buy more than 5 gaming mouses if i want, But I don't buy them because I don't need lool but it is ok if you buy a mouse like this one, it is your money, not mine lol I'm cool with my 15$ mouse :D :D
@1gamesforyou It is very hard to deny that a mouse like that is not useful for gaming. Everything is directed at improving its gaming capabilities, from its weight adjustments to more buttons - all of that make it useful for gaming.
To enjoy and find those perks useful you do not need to be bad at gaming, in fact it is almost the opposite.
@TheViolander I'm not saying it is completely useless lol, and you don't need all those buttons and weight changing to be good at gaming lol you are truly a gamer with ANY mouse, even those 5$ mouses, you don't need 100$ gaming mouses to be good at any fps game or any other type of gaming.
@RonanRocha1994 you are entirely right, people don't need to drive those cars, yes, and people don't need to buy this mouse to own at a game, yes. are we clear? lol
Don't be fooled into thinking a customisable mouse = best. You are not meant to have a mouse that fits your hand and fills it like a sofa, you will damage your hand. Not only that, using this mouse, or rather the R.A.T 9 that I used, the edges of the panels tend to stick into my hands. Furthermore, this mouse is annoying to lift off and reposition your mouse because of it's shape and weight. The idea of this being for shooters is joke, you'll have to use low dpi and rest hand on it like a sofa.
@Ang3lsCurse If its too heavy just remove weights? And you really dont get the point, dpi is to increase accuracy not to make it go fast as fuck, you put max dpi and extremely low sensitivity ingame
@StabDeadProductions it's still heavy without weights and if you turn your mouse sensitivity too low on games you'll not be able to look around fast enough. I keep my lachesis on it's max 5600dpi, no windows filters and only reduce by a small amount in most shooting games. Also, like I said, having lower dpi and/or sensitivity in game applications will mean you have to lift off and centre your mouse a lot which is not practicle with this mouse. I think I do "get the point".
@StabDeadProductions DPI is how how much info the mice reads not "accuracy". You can lower the sensitivity which may not mean more accuracy depending how what you are using reduces it. My first though was lower sensitivity, increase DPI = more precision, but then I was sceptical. Some software reducing sensitivity does not increase accuracy with higher DPI. If you have max dpi you increase the size of possible increments, so in some cases it is less accurate. :)
@StabDeadProductions Also, changing the sensitivity in windows is awful. Some games use the windows sensitivity, some don't. So if someone was looking for a mouse with high DPI they should make sure the mouse they are buying lets you make profiles for different applications so you can set each one, including your operating system, to the exact DPI you want. This should be second to the physical use of the mouse, which should never come second to any other specification.
The guys says it made pretty cheap....WTF I have it and can say it not cheap what so ever I'd say the other way around it' made ruff and tuff dont see myself using or buying anything else. This guy is a retard....no other mouse out there as of now comes anything close to the rat. The simple fact the guy says it's make cheap tells me any other review is pointless to watch lost all credibilaty in my eyes.
If u can't afford it get off of your lazy ass, crawl outta the basement, get even the lowest paying job imaginable and buy one after a day of work. Fuckin kids these days. Lazy entitled little bitches. It's priced at what the market will bear, not what YOU can afford, it's economics stupid. If you can't afford it, you're doing it wrong....life that is.
Who needs all that stuff? I mean.. it can't make so much of a difference.. I'd like to see a team with "pro" mice fight against a team with standards. Just to know if these expensive things change anything.
@Talon3000 It actually does make a difference. I was playing TF2 once, clicked to fire a headshot at the same time as my target, I died, he didn't. Why? I was using a normal mouse with a slower response. Now that I have my 1 millisecond reaction time Razer Imperator, I can feel the difference over the old standard mouse. So yes, major difference.
a 100$ mouse should have no problems... As soon as you said "the only problem of this..." I closed the video. I can buy a 10$ mouse which is as accurate as this, probably comfortable too. This is a waste of money.
best 79 euros i've ever spent on a mouse, the grip on this almost feels like you would have a glove on your hand which acted like an mouse. Really nice, love the pinkey rest
hey, i have about 55 subs i thinl, maybe 56 lol, but i do magic tricks, and they are pretty good and i hear feedback about it, so if you could come sub to me that would me amazing, thank so much
I have this mouse and your kinda wrong this is the best mouse ive ever seen or used its fricking amazing to anyone wanting a mouse get this especially for first person shooters!
Oh also I would not recommend Mad Catz for anything to be honest. Their controllers, mice, and keyboards are always severely overpriced, strangely shaped, they have extra "trendy" but pointless little buttons and flashy things to get you to buy it, and made of easily breakable plastic material. They've always been infamous among the gaming community in a way.
@duckypwns Mad Catz doesn't manufacture it, and you'll find the quality is higher than what you think you know. Really, $5-10? No, it's worth quite much more than that.
I wouldn't pay more than $20 for this mouse in all honesty, and I wouldn't even feel comfortable buying it at that price really considering that I already have a good mouse. I don't see why this is necessary, let alone at $100. The only way I'd definitely buy it is if it were $5-10.
also to people saying it is cheaply made just because it is made by mad catz, picgamer and ign both gave this mouse nearly perfect ratings, and pcgamer called it the greatest gaming mouse ever made.
Can you remove the pinky rest completely? I think that was kind of a miss because most pro gamers use their pinky as a stabilizer having it rest on something that was solid A.K.A. not on the mouse.
Yes, the pinky rest with the bottom section is an extra part that comes with it. it also comes with a plastic rest on it and a rubber gripped rest, both allowing your pinky to lay on the desk.

Ciukyexacta 1 month ago
This is a good mouse but why get it? It not like there are any good pc games out there.

Southslider51 1 month ago
wait, i forgot to mention. The mouse isn't at all cheap feeling.
If you look closely at it, it's very nicely made, nice metal frame under the rubberized plastic.
Not cheap at all. I'm stoked to go try it out!

Question: Does the Sidebuttons work in gaming?
TheCommentGuy8 1 month ago
@TheCommentGuy8 ~ In most new games. Games like Minecraft and old ones doesn't work. I tried to make it work in Warcraft II, but it didn't work.
Redo97 1 month ago
@Redo97 Thank you.
One more thing, will the side buttons work with games that came out in the early and mid 2000?
TheCommentGuy8 1 month ago
@TheCommentGuy8 ~ I'm not sure.. But one game that I tried from 2002 didn't.

Oh also I would not recommend Mad Catz for anything to be honest. Their controllers, mice, and keyboards are always severely overpriced, strangely shaped, they have extra "trendy" but pointless little buttons and flashy things to get you to buy it, and made of easily breakable plastic material. They've always been infamous among the gaming community in a way.
duckypwns 1 month ago
@duckypwns Mad Catz doesn't manufacture it, and you'll find the quality is higher than what you think you know. Really, $5-10? No, it's worth quite much more than that.
gir1258 1 month ago
@gir1258 Mad Catz does make it - Cyborg is a product line by Mad Catz.
duckypwns 1 month ago
I wouldn't pay more than $20 for this mouse in all honesty, and I wouldn't even feel comfortable buying it at that price really considering that I already have a good mouse. I don't see why this is necessary, let alone at $100. The only way I'd definitely buy it is if it were $5-10.

Put some more buttons on it, THEN call it a gaming mouse. This mouse is nothing more than a custom-fit mouse.

also to people saying it is cheaply made just because it is made by mad catz, picgamer and ign both gave this mouse nearly perfect ratings, and pcgamer called it the greatest gaming mouse ever made.
chipleader14 1 month ago
i recently purchased this mouse. i dont feel as though it is cheaply made. i feel like this mouse is much better then some that cost upwards of $150.
chipleader14 1 month ago
Can you remove the pinky rest completely? I think that was kind of a miss because most pro gamers use their pinky as a stabilizer having it rest on something that was solid A.K.A. not on the mouse.
LiLmadM1ND 1 month ago
@LiLmadM1ND
Yes, the pinky rest with the bottom section is an extra part that comes with it. it also comes with a plastic rest on it and a rubber gripped rest, both allowing your pinky to lay on the desk.
chipleader14 1 month ago
Ive used this mouse for a few days and i can say that it isnt worth the money.
Sure its comfortable and looks cool but its overpriced, and u could get a way better mouse for half the price!

this mouse is all eye candy. there are far more better mouse than this.
