In those years they had to do what they did. Time was money and a train with a scheduled load bought and paid for needed to run. Snow had to go. So these mammoth units were invented of the day and could practically tunnel their way through the deepest drifts. Nothing stood in their way, not even a cow. Though I would know a cow got out of the way from the noise these made long before F7B was on top of it. I wonder too, today, if railroads let weather rule them. Or just called it snow day.

The museum's focus is Western Pacific, so you'll see many 2nd generation diesels (1950s, 1960s, 1970s) on display. They'll be offering caboose rides on the balloon tracks.
