I have never had sleep paralysis, but I have had that falling sensation often, and it's like you slam back into your body and it wakes you up. I don't know if this is astral projection being stopped, or what. I have never had an OBE, but one time I did have the distinct feeling I was separate from my body. It was a very peaceful but odd feeling. I felt I was outside of myself. When I opened my eyes all was normal. I was fully awake at the time, not in bed, not half asleep etc.
