  • It looks old...can i run it on windows 7?

  • I played through the entire game from start to end and I STILL don't have a clue what the intro is supposed to be about.

  • Check out Albion save game editor that I just wrote for this game. Allows changing team members, attributes, inventory and spells. You can even give spells to Tom. Just make sure you don't ruin the joy of playing. geleji.hu/vilmos/albion/

  • God I loved this game! It was awesome! I never got to finish it though. Dont know where it is anymore :(

  • My God, Avatar even BEGINS like Albion (with a dream on a ship taking the character to a distant world).

  • Damn, forgot about the intro, but never forget about the game. it was great. :)

  • even though i only played this on a demo cd from settlers iv, i spent hours on this!

  • Blue byte is controlled by ubisoft now? That's a real shame

  • thats true.blue byte controlled by ubisoft now.but the guys from blue byte are somthing like ..specialists in ubisoft.

btw i love this game so much.a revolutionary game for me.

  • I hope I see someday a playthrough for Ambermoon, 'cause I never was able to complete it. It's a game made by the same people who created Albion, and it was released in the Amiga in 1993. It has all the elements found in Albion and in my opinion it's even funnier.

  • Wow, I actually played this and got frustrated... but I'm still kinda looking forward to this LP :)

  • Lasers right from the start, the sign of a good game

  • loooool

  • i have never heard of albion but all of your lps kikoskia are awesome (only time ill post that comment)

  • Thanks its been so long since I've gotten to play this game.

  • First two minutes of the video: ...What the hell is going on?!

Then, suddenly: ...OH! We're on a space ship. Uh...okay.

  • omg i can't believe u played this... i played it ... maybe 10 years ago and then 5 years ago again ^^ i loved it so much ...

  • 0:53 PEW?!

I am sorry I know this is an old video but ... PEW?! What was that ment to be?! Is this actually a disguised secret Asteroids intro? The orange guy is the ship, the red orbs are the enemies and the green orbs are power-ups?

  • that was possibly the trippyest opening sequence ive ever seen

  • i saw avatar movie and said ALBION !!

  • @Alcebichi astonishing, isn't it? ^^

  • this game is like avatar eh?

  • Don't you mean Avatar is like this game?

  • yes, you're right

  • @Kikoskia Agreed. This came out 13 or so years before Avatar did. While Avatar has a similarity to a number of things, it resembles this much more closely than the others. It wouldn't be the first time Cameron ripped off someone else; he ripped off Harlan Ellison's Outer Limits episodes "Demon with a Glass Hand" and "Soldier" for the first Terminator movie.

  • This is one of the very, very very few sci-fi games I love.

  • Awesome game this. Easily my favourite RPG when I was a kid. Going between the sci-fi and fantasy elements was a blast, and it was great to play a fantasy game at all that didn't feature the same old elves, orcs, hobbits etc.

I never really figured out quite what the intro was supposed to mean, though; the goddess talking to Tom, or just foreshadowing?

  • It's probably the history of humanity from the point of view of the Goddess: at first it's small, harmless and learns Nature's wonders (sun, lightning), then it develops into the iron age (sword), conquers its fear of nature (feral face), develops further (tank), grows too big, begins to destroy its environment (butterfly), and eventually self-annihilates.

  • Yeah, I guess that makes sense. The apple could represent scientific advancement and knowledge, for instance (alluding to Newton, perhaps?)

Not sure if it explains the freaky glowing orange guy with spikes jutting out of his body, though lol

  • I think the apple symbolizes one of Nature's gifts, too (green bubble = good stuff) - remember, the Goddess looks down on scientific progress (which seems to be marked by gray bubbles).

The glowing guy is humanity itself and the spikes are probably a measure of its aggressiveness. Note how they begin to grow after humanity "masters" fire.

  • does anyone know where i can download this game for free?

  • Pretty stupid question to ask since youtube forbids any kind of information like that to be posted

  • Does that mean they'll BAN me if I post it or what? XD

  • Probably. ^^

  • Then I guess it's a shame I have no idea... I havn't been banned from anything important for almost 8 years... XD

  • This game is actually considered abandonware at this point, so it should be available from any website that specializes in abandonware games.(I personally like Abandonia) As the post I'm replying to is 3 months old though, I'm sure you've probably found that out for yourself by now anyways. =P

  • @Cheatmaster43

There is no such thing as abandonware. It is a fictional idea invented to make people feel more at ease when stealing video games. Even though the game is not on sale, the game data, all characters, stories etc. remain the property of Blue Byte.

  • True enough, and if the company that developed the game still had it for sale in any form, and was still making money off of it, then I'd be the last person to download it for free. As it stands though, you need to either look for it second hand, which is next to impossible, or download it.

  • Next to impossible, my foot. You can easily find it on Amazon or something like that.

  • Hmm... I'd never checked Amazon for anything other than books, but now that you mention it, there are two copies there for a little under 30$. I know I had checked Ebay and various other places previously and had seen only 1 copy for under 150$, probably boxed for collectors. Either way, thanks for the info. Also, Tales of the Abyss was amazing. =P

  • There are multiple video games around for which the source code does not even exist anymore.

Those are most certainly true abandonwares.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, there's even a site for Abandonwares, and this one was on it. :P

    (Abandonia)

  • Yes, but since Blue Byte no longer exist, there is nobody left to enforce said copyright.

  • Err, blue byte is still up an running, under the "supervision" of ubisoft. Settlers 7 is being developed by them.

  • HOLY SHIT! Sorry but I still remember this game when I was still a kid and it was Awesome!!! Was totally absorbed for weeks!!!

  • I remember this from a free demo I got with another game.

  • Hey! How did you get this game working so well? I dled this game (350MB) via torrent and then mounted it. It's ok, but sound is very laggy, not as smooth as yours. Could you give me and help on this, please? Thanks.

  • maybe consider buying it

  • No way. It's fun, but I decided not to play. GG

  • Check out oldgames(dot)ck. The games there come packaged with their own emulators that, in my experience, work perfectly.

  • omg what a fucking good idea, a remake of this game in graphics and teqnies of 2010.

I REALLY love this game. I even bought it original on ebay 2 years ago, just to play it once againe.

    What a great gameplay.

  • I loved this game. It definitely could've done things better, but a lot of its flaws were probably caused by technical limitations. I would LOVE to see this game remade today.

  • This is the best pc rpg ever created and a sequel should be made! ;___;

I really need to finish this game, although if u enter those damn demon ruins later with a too low level you are screwed. >_>

  • maybe after LoL2...could you get your hands on LoL3?

  • I kneel before this "monster" Kikoska!

Thank you for all your vids, old timer RPG's are my childhood.

But... Finally I've managed to start playing Albion 2 days ago, for the first time! Back in time I only stared at pictures and some videos, but never played yet. You're part of "what made me to start play" this game. And I don't regret. Superb game, even 13 years from release.

  • Wow! You've made 185 videos of Albion? That's amazing, I'm going to watch them all! It is the best game I've ever seen! Thank you!

  • ever play Escape from monkey island?

  • sweet man!

are there any other game similar to this?

    i love these witty games

  • So you're finally playing this, yay!

  • P.S. I love that he blows up scary cartoon faces and butterflies with equal vigor!

  • Oh fine, I'll watch, but I won't be happy it's not Lands of Lore 2! ;-)

  • What a.. strange introduction. o.o

  • Kikoskia, this is awesome. Thank you for doing Albion. It is definitely one of the forgotten classics.

  • You're welcome. Updates won't be as thick and fast as Lands of Lore was - Lands of Lore really wore me out and I focused huge amounts of time in uploading and recording, that is how it was done so fast. But when I start an LP, I finish it. That is my promise to you all.
