u get the golden card just by fighting but gettin it is rare, there easliy obtained on castle oblivion 13th floor but anywhere else its rare to get, and I think he got the roxas card by clearing KH2FM first, which could mean by the clear bonus right?

Yeah, you spent most of the time battling near endless battles, watch cutscene, battle some more, and watch more cutscenes.
Btw, there are no side-quests (apart from gathering weapon and organization cards) in this game.

The reason there was a Roxas card in that Chest is because he cleared the KH2 Final Mix first!
