I use my right hand, and for most algs I use the same ones as two handed (except for V and F because I'm actually unable to do those with one hand because of some reason)

but I suck, so I might have to switch hands or learn some algs.

A tip that I think is really helpful is if u have an alg that uses l and r. Do a z and uses your pink for any u's

In my opinion, how fast you solve with 2 hands double that, and if you can solve OH that fast that is pretty good, until you get better with two hands.

I'm left handed, so that's an epic win. Gearshifts, doorknobs, and spouts on pans are always on the wrong side, but damn it all I can cube OH. For 2 handed solving, my right hand is actually faster. Just one of those things I've learned to do backwards. Like a mouse on a computer. I can't for the life of me use one with my left hand. :-/

get used to 2 hands more...for me it was i thought about algorithms while solving...now it's this way and that way...wen u get to that point if u do it's easier to do 1 hand. u'll realise im not crazy if u get to that point

its called muscle memory, you can probly do the algs with 2 hands without actually thinking about each seperate move, but, like me, had to relearn all of the algs with one hand bc they feel different.

Quick question, you say that you use a type a DYI cube and that it's a bit more resistant than the Rubik's brand cube, however, it's smooth and can stop after a flick. Would this work better for one-handed solves? Also, would you recommend any of the other DYI cube types?

Yes. With a same scramble, you can mirror all the moves, known as a "Symmetry Solve"
