great music will live on... until the US department of "Justice" starts cracking down on free music like they have on poker/sportsbetting sites... Call your congressman and tell them to stay the fuck out of our computers!
I think if John had just given co-writer credit to the otherss on the instrumental songs (Poorboy Shuffle, Side o'the Road, Rude Awakening#2)opened up the jam on Keep On Chooglin' for more group input and live improvisation, and been reasonable enough to let Tom Fogerty have 1 song per album, Creedence could have survived. Doug and Stu wanted to write a song, John should have sang them instead of just quite the band.He walked out on his contract and thats why he was broke. Its not the bands fault

There's so much more to this story than has been posted. Truth is JF, Doug and Stu actually played together in the early 80's a couple of special occasions, therefore signifying possible reconciliation. But that all changed when Doug and Stu sided with Fantasy in their lawsuit against JF supposedly plagiarizing himself. Though it would become the most ridiculous lawsuit in music, Stu and Doug went public supporting Fantasy's argument. That was the last straw for Fogerty.
necesito sacar esta cancion, si alguien tiene la tablatura porfabor pasenmela se lo agradesere mucho / i need to play this song, if some one have the tab pleas sendme the link, i will be realy thankfull
When I was kid my uncle with a few too many beers use to dance to this song flapping his elbows with the 12 pk box on his head. This song sure brings back the 'ol good timesXD
@AFAStrive05 - Good question, but sorry they're just no more able to make such music, it's a pity and frustrating and such a big loss for the younger generations. I'm still a Creedence addict and I cling to John Fogerty' solo compositions. They keep up the memory but even his best ones do not get the spirit of his CCR songs. Fogerty is great and the only one to make music which comes anywhere near CCR's great songs.
Why would John take the solo writing credit for this track? and also Side O' The Road when they're clearly just group improvisations. He should have opened up somewhat to the other guys creative input.
@DhunamiCE Well he did after whining, mostly from his brother Tom...the first 6 albums where pretty much JC with a great backup band. the Pendelum album took a different direction then the swamp rock sound and the Mardi Gras album had CCR as a trio, but joint efforts on writing and vocals....I personnally think it was thier weakest effort, except for sweet hitchhiker that album seldom hit my turntable. Tom had left to persue his solo career...which went nowhere. As did CCR after Mardi Gras
@spigelian52 Tom, Doug and Stu's more accurate version is that they wanted group credit on the instrumentals and jams, and to pick some cover songs. John couldn't stand being a real band, so he wouldn't finish the MG LP. That left Doug and Stu to write solo, and play all the instruments (Stu played lead on 6 songs)JF blames them for the rip-off record deal HE SIGNED FIRST, though Stu's dad, a lawyer, advised against that particular deal. MG/Blue Ridge combined could have been a good project...
@spigelian52 looks like John misdirects his resentment at them instead of himself for putting himself $100,000 in debt by 1975,screwed himself out of decades of royalties and stalling his own career for 12 yrs - having a song by Tom on each record would have helped them be less 1-dimensional. His "John Fogerty" record had some great songs, wouldve been a hit if it had CCR named on instead.Read "Bad Moon Rising"-John's delusional resentment doesn't add up - he ruined CCR and himself in the 70's.
@DhunamiCE I've learned something today, even tho I'd listen to everything on the prior albums...not sure I would have if it didn't unfold as it had. It was a great run, you know how you'd buy an album for "a song", with CCR I put the album on and listened to the whole album.
Poorboy Shuffle is one of their best songs. What makes it cool is that in their album "Willy And The Poor Boys" this song goes into a medley with the next song in the album which is "Feelin' Blue.
@Choogler1: I fully agree, but why only BEST AMERICAN BAND? CCR not only was but has been the best of all bands to this day PERIOD! That's at least what I would say. BTW: Side O'The Road is another instrumental worth listening, it's also on Willy And The Poor Boys, side 2, or No. 9 on the CD.
to Own only CCR's "Greatest Hits " Is a waste of time, they only made 7 albums, go buy them all !..Each one is separate from the others, different sounds and styles ,yet all within the "Context " of what they were doing ..PERSONALLY ,I have always thought that Creedence was the BEST AMERICAN BAND ever !..PERIOD !
In the original record, right after the end of poor boy shuffle, follows feeling blue almost non-stop. Really great. Thanks for posting, I still am looking forward to watch the clips on these giniuses.
Hey Rooster! Did anyone else hear that?
