This is where that one particular sample came from for seven forty seven. They recycle plenty of sounds all the time, so it's nothing new. Though, I do think that seven forty seven has a better progression.
What gets me about BOC is that I can run the album and love some tracks and not so much the others, then 6 months down the line I love the tracks that I wasn't too bothered about as well. It's like Iv'e moved into a different phase.
So, the reason why Ilove boards of canada so much...well...its simply because I get these visuals in my head when listening to their tracks. Its almost like a construction of a movie and I can see it all as the music plays. This one...I get like a sleezy strip joint with grose guys doing lines of coke off the stage. The strippers arent drop dead gorgeous, theyre there just doing there thing. Like very Soprano-esque but everything is in slow motion.

like much of their music, this track makes me nostalgic for the early-web days of of the late 90's seeking and finding rare BOC with my bestfriend that passed away last year...we had many intense experiences and conversations around certain tracks...
This song is one of my favorites. Its particularly touching to me but im not sure why. maybe its because the way the drums are like the ticking of a clock but much deeper...i dont know. this song just reminds me of hearing a big old grandfather clock in my grandparents old house during the night when everyone was asleep. it gave me that feeling as if everyone in the world had gone and it was just me. it felt like being a ghost free to wander aimlessly yet comfortably. it was an icy comfort...
Its funny you shoul mention it. I like skiing. Especially during easter holiday when i go up with my family to the mountains and our cabin there. I strap on some mountain skis and go out on a trip for like 5-6 hours just walking up there in Jutunheimen Norway. Decolate, above the treeline, sun is shining, cold yet burning my face.
I have this tune on my ipod and this tune comes up... i walk with the rythm... no people... just me and nature, icy comfort as you put it
