No Indian Pacific? Also, I know where you can get ghan carriages, with the ghan plaue but no red and yellow stip. I also know where to get Silver Overland Carriages!
Lima produce the Ghan carriages. Old stock is around $30ea, new stock produced since Hornby purchased Lima is about $80ea! Tomshobbies in Sydney list some of the old stock is still available at the cheaper price.
That's "The Overland", a train which runs between Melbourne and Adelaide. The Maroon colour scheme shown on those carriages first appeared in the 1950's and lasted into the 1990's.
The loco at 2mins is a B class in early 1980's teacup livery, at 3:27 there is a B in traditional VR colours. B class HO RTR models will soon be available from Auscision Models
The Steam loco that appears around 3:32 and 5:50 is a Victorian Railways "X" class 2-8-2 loco. No plastic ready to run models are currently available, there have been brass RTR and whitemetal kits of the loco produced in the past.
My eyesight isn't that good either! I dont have the master DV tape on the PC anymore so cant check it (the DV master is naturally way higher quality than the youtube vids)
Would you believe me if I said the steam train noises were from the layout behind this one? OK, they were just some generic sounds I had on hand to replace the screaming kids at the exhibition.
