Good old Bingley Hall, Birmingham.Me and my bro went to the previous nights gig on a friday.I remember my bro losing one of his bowling shoes in the mosh pit and i had to prevent him from dissapearing to the floor looking for it.I told him to wait till the end to l look for it,we did and there were about twenty other lads doing the same thing.
I was there... :-) my first ever gig....went with my older cousins, and saw them at Deeside Ice rink as well.....1982 I think...fantastic memories that will live with me for ever.
His Dad let me into The George Hotel in Edinburgh and got all my albums signed, and a couple of pics. The man was a gent and always had time for the people who put his son where he is today......., But some great tunes also helped. RIP JW.
@theaceface Hi this is Rozzi from The Expressos, we played as the support act for them at Bingley Hall......this brought back so many memories....going to the wings and hearing JAM JAM JAM my knees literally giving way....and Pauls Dad...Mr Weller calling me over and telling me not to be ner vous as once I was out there I wouldnt be able to see anyone....he was a lovely man and the Jam were really nice people to play with....really nice people all of them xx

fuckin hell just spoted the rips didnt know he had passed john weller a shining example of what his boy can do when he has his dad in his corner god bless you john
So sad about John, but the sound of The Jam will live forever. Kids today have discovered the music and love it. Bingley Hall. Me, my brother & brother in law were there, spent some time in The Acropolis Cafe-great coffee. Great times, great friends & great sounds!!!!
I see a parallel between John Weller and Brian Epstein-two men who believed and were committed to something no one else did at the time and refused to pack it in.Thank goodness they persisted in the face of all odds.
Its so sad to hear about Johns death, Paul must be devastated. A great man, manager and father. He will be missed but his determination and inspiration im sure will live on through Paul.
trans global express live video i recall, went as a 15 year old about erm "83" maybe to buy this, was £20,lots for a 15 year old then, the girl at the till said"are you sure son?,£20? i said yeeeeees give me my jam video :),lost it know ofcourse so great to see the start again :)
Yeah...prices....I remember buying the original 'Snap' video for 15 quid in late 82 I think it was......I only got 40 a week wages......and Quadrophenia from my dads mate with the video shop was 45 quid.......mindboggling now,but a must have at the time.Quad is still the best film I've ever seen for impact.....and I've still got both and they're still playable.Quality tapes then.....and they should be at those prices, the robbing b..tards....
RUDI were the support act on the previous night and thought they were on second too.

A great, honest decent working class man, who proved you only need belief and commitment to make it. Rest In Peace John.

Got the whole gig on DVD ;-)

I had this on VHS, this was the intro piece.
I never understood why they left the Butterfly Collector of it and put it on the Snap video.
That one small squeak of feedback in it maybe?
