If the Colonies did not have French help, America would still be ruled by Britain. The terrorist act of rebellion would never have taken place.
Without French help the rebellion would have been squashed, (without a problem). I have some info for you. The Brits will one day take the colonies back. They were stolen from us & should be returned ASAP.

I see nothing wrong with Love going beyond borders. Though I must share with you the fact that I hate criticisms not because they hurt but because they don't accomplish anything. @mackdv1st washington himself never supported slavery. the slaves belonged to his wife. and he secretly made the will that when his wife dies he will free the slaves. he wrote this when she had gotten an illness thinking it would be soon but she recovered and outlived him. thomas jefferson never supported slavery though he had them, most of his slaves actually liked him. even jefferson davis the confederate leader himself was against slavery but he believed in people's right to choose.

Is there a lack of research materials available to historians to put together a closer look at Washington? I know that Martha Washington burned their personal correspondence. We've learned a lot about John Adams because Adams disobeyed his wife's wish that he burn their personal correspondence. Perhaps Martha Washington burned ot just letters but all personal papers?

@ramsantosjr A book written in 1806, saying exactly that. He also according to the book had picked up a sexually transmitted disease which at the time was un-curable, (from one of his slaves). The author if I remember correctly was a guy called Henry Lee the Governor of Virginia. I think the book was actually banned in the USA 200 copies finished up in Europe. Under the freedom of information act it would be worth checking out. I also think Henry Lee was attacked, then shortly after passed away.
