If you hear the Buenos Aires 1997 live version, you'll see that they used many details of this demo on the performance, like the opening chords and the DJ D-Zire turnatables "to you satisfy".
Verse takes chord structure from Los Conquistadores Chocolates by Johnny Hammond; changed slightly for album version, and then picked up again recently for live version (2010, Switzerland, fantastic version!)
@danbo1984 Have you heard the other version from this first release? Its PURE Johnny Hammond - JK doesn't even try to disguise it - the piano line fom conquistadors goes on and on.......... JK learned from the BEST my friend - check out the "Back to Mine"
I'm seriously wondering who the guitarist in this demo version was. Gavin Dodds played on the album version, but for some reason, it sounds like Simon Bartholomew here... yeah, maybe it's him. After all, he DID help out on EOPE afterwards, and since his BNH bandmate plays bass here.....
Ok, now that I think about it, this sounds completely like a BNH track :P (even Nick Van Gelder sounds like Jan Kincaid here xD).
@IdAnIsS Don't underestimate Mr Zender my friend. Judging by how amazing he was at 18, I'd expect him to sound like this at 15. Distinctively less fills. Trust me, it's Stu.
i'm actually not mad about this track, yeah they might have gotten the chorus beat idea from johnny hammonds track but if u listen to it its just similar melody wise and not an exact copy. so i feel its more respectful than the crap thats out today where artists just completely take a 30 second sample from a song and throw a drum loop on it.

@IdAnIsS Andrew Levy was on the bass, the bassist from Brand New Heavies. Stuart Zender was indeed too young.

Wow, nice peice of history here. So this was the demo, what happened after that? Who tidies it up, masters it etc. ?
It's more like brand new heavies than the distinct jamiroquai sound they came to be.
