He is doing right..the M24 has in fact a 5 round magazine and you don't need to fill it at all times. It's just more practical to feed rounds directly into the chamber during training of several rounds. It also lessens bullet deformation.

@YellingDingo22 I just mean that the shooter is the one thats make the shot. Not the gun. A trained shooter can hits targets up to a 1000 meters. I hunt, and if i have a deer in range of the riffel but not in for my eksperiens, i wont take the shot. The gun will always hit the target, It just depends on the shooter! Have a nice day!
You get in that position with a pole that weighs 3-5kg and try to get your hand (the one you use to support the barrel) into the opposite way he is holding this rifle (the way you think is right) and see how comfortable it is, let alone maintaining any accuracy. I have seen many target shooters with their $3000 target rifles in way weirder positions than this, all for accuracy. Comfortability > looking good

Besides you will have some kind of scope or magnification object in front of you so you won't necessarily have to look very far with the naked eye. im joining the Army infantry sometime early in 2011, and i hope one day i can go to Ft Benning for sniper training and get that B4 tag! Thanks to all the vets and soldiers who do their jobs everyday for us!

@RocketBoz do a lot of ruck marching. Light weight like 35 lbs but long distances. walk until it hurts...then walk more haha. also light weight, short distances like 2-3 mi but do it as fast as you can

@RocketBoz do pull ups. it would be best if you could knckout 10 dead hang pullups after your tired. at sfas you do a long and short ruck march and a long and short run. when i went they made us do the pull ups after we got done with the long run so its best to be able to do as many as you can while dead tired.

I love sniper rifles. I'm not going to join the military (my brother is already a Marine) and I have no aspiration to become a police officer, but I have this undeniable reverence for sniping and sniper rifles. I love this rifle in particular. I'm definitely going to buy this baby. All love and respect to you, you're doing a great thing! Hoo-ah!, or whatever you Army men say. From a military family, to a military man!

@Cusemanmike I'm joining too & picked up the habit already. That & dip. Don't get in to it. At least wait until you're service time is done. I stopped smoking & chewing for my endurance's sake. My grandfather picked up the habit in the Army too. Everyone back then smoked.

@USAFCombatC Well, I've been wanting to be a sniper in the military all my life. It's like my dream. But my vision isn't perfect. it's like a little less than average. I'm near sighted so I can't see long distances. Would that be a big problem for me? Like what are the requirements for a sniper. Cause my vision is all I'm lacking.

@WhiteSunRising Yeah it will be a big factor but I have very bad vision in my left eye alone and they just made me get contacts that's all I did so you should be fine. Besides you will have some kind of scope or magnification object in front of you so you won't necessarily have to look very far with the naked eye. Also cut your hair or they are going to shave it all off!

@WhiteSunRising snipers now a days dont stay in the same spot for very long especially in the regular army. maybe if you were to be a socom sniper. and if we need to pee and absolutley need to stay in the prone then we just roll over a few times pee then roll back. you could always piss on yourself if you wanted...
