And, yes, it is, but, for some dumb resone, people still eat tuna, and, only when people stop eating tuna, will we stop fishing tuna. Same with whales. Aye, Shoshoni (named after tribe, Shoshone) is now in her own pen, a way down the trail from the original compound--I don't know if either of you are aware of the incident in which she attacked Lakota...? Apache and Lakota remain in the same place, however. Apache is my favorite! I did not come with the intention of favorites, as I just love wolves, but he is an exception...as for the rest, I love them all very much--heck, I love all wolfies.

I am aware of the incident yes, however I was not around at the time of its occurrence. It happened before I began Volunteering at the sanctuary, so I did not get to see it, or even the injuries afterwards. Since I gave tours though, I heard all about it. Female fights, especially ones that concern dominance are even more violent then the male ones, concerning wolves that is. I shutter to think what it must have been like. Comanche was my favorite from that pen, though not anymore. :)

They did an amazing job stitching her up though, didn't they? Her face looks really good compared to what one would expect that kind of damage to do. BTW I got feed Apache and Lakota elk today!!! Apache jumped and cought the biggest piece lol awesome and exciting every time!

Yes, the only remaining proof of that incident is that moon shaped scar below her... right eye i think it was? maybe left, idk. Anyways, congrats on the elk! Its usually a special tradition at the sanctuary, that volunteers, on their first day, get to deliver meat to all the wolves. Its really fun seeing their reactions to it sometime, especially in the summer when all the frozen blood melts >D Hope you had fun!

Wolves are part of our national heritage and they deserve to be protected fiercely by all of us! Wolves deserve our upmost respect and appreciation, because like you said in your wonderful video, they can teach us all something about ourselves. I am a member on the International Wolf Center in Minnesota it is a very nice place, they also have off site field trips. This place is 4 hours from where I live. Are you a similar facility?

Unfortunatly, we are nowhere near as large as the International Wolf center in Ely. We are the only public wolf sanctuary in Oregon which helps us out a little ;)

We offer educational tours in our area. I haven't been on one myself, but apperently the crowd gets a look at wolves from a glance and are educated on the benefit and beauty of these creatures. A live wolf is also brought and serves as our ambassador.

Wolves r wonderful creatures that deserve to be protected. Hunter hunt them for their fur but when they kill and skin the wolves is that fur still beautiful? More than Half of all human bloodlines hunted with wolves in the past due to the domestications of the wolf, and so started the dog gene, we carefully breeded wolves to make dogs, Although many of our ancestorys also hunted wolves, Humans hunted everything that would feed them, But now weve grown and no longer need hunting, Its just a waste now.

I came from Tribe Marcomanni 1 of the first German tribes to ensure domestications of the wolf.

Howling Acres,untill his passing a little while ago,Beasley,one of the rescue Wolves was the oldest living Wolf in captivity.He lived to 17yrs old,and had a full and happy 'retirement'after being found in the back of a truck,with his eyes gouged out by his owner.He was possibly the sweetestd lad i have ever met dispite the dispicable cruelty he'd suffered.Support Howling Acres!!!
