Ammonia cleans dog piss the best, you have to go to Biglots to get it cuz it's not enough mark up price everywhere else. Ozone is still OK for killing odors but clean the source instead. Hepa filter is for cleaning everything and 40 times as fast as any Ionic Breeze ie, the real world. Ionic Breeze does have value ie. $5 plus tax. Hepa filtering virus' only makes sense when someone is sick, u don't know when otherwise. Ionic anything is hype, way

It might not be too bad for U BUT it was proven on Channel 7 News that it "can NOT keep up with the real world". It is a very good example of how your being ripped off by new inventions since 1999. Ie. A numerous amount of false testimonials, Hype claims and high price as if. Whenever you go to a seminar there will be lots of people who pretend to be just like you, a skeptical customer, and then rave about how great it works. A Hepa filter takes 10X the electricity but is doing 40X the work.

I used one in my mothers house because the place reeked of dog pee and after a month on the low setting the place smelled a hell of alot better and the collectors were loaded with dust. Is there a unit like the ionic breeze that does not emit ozone?

Low levels of ozone aren't horrible. High is not healthy. How much do these emit?

@Lightworker444 I do not know scientifically how much ozone they emit but they have settings of high, medium and low.....so I keep mine on low or medium. But it seems to work fine for me......the collector plates have alot of crap and particles on them after one week

Now while there are NO regulations for residential indoor Ozone levels, the consensus is OZONE IS NOT A SAFE form of viral or bacterial removal. An indoor HEPA filter and/or HRV/ERV is the safest and best way to go. While there are a few good NON OZONE based germicidal lamps on the market, i would only recommend them if symptoms persist after using the above 2 methods first. For particulate issues (dust,pet dander etc.) that should be sufficient.

The Ionic Breeze is garbage and is being marketed by a company that has NO vested interest in I.A.Q. and Ozone IS DANGEROUS in large amounts and the Quadra is WAY WAY past those amounts, even on the lowest setting. They also lost a $50 Million lawsuit and have since filed bankruptcy. Keep in mind the ionizing rod does not destroy particles it only holds them to the rod, in a similar fashion, the way old tube type tv's did. Once the rod is de-energized those particles become free floating again.

I have had an Ionic Breeze for quite a while. My ground level condo is always dusty, very dusty. After one week the collectors in my "IB" have a lot of dirt/dust on them so I assume it is really working. I hope the ozone thing is not dangerous. If you look on EBAY there is a "big" market for these used. Go look, almost all of them have bids.

I did own 3 Ionic breezes and one died. They are ok but I think they are not powerfull enough

i own 4 ionic breeze and they work AMAZING. i have been very happy with them. i wouldnt recommend them in a small room, tho, so the last poster shouldve read the instructions. i love that there are no filters to buy and replace and toss in the landfill, and the grid is easy to clean; and they use minimal enrgy as oppose to other filters

Sharper image is going bankrupt because the claims of Ionic Breeze were so hype. Research is not done these days before selling a product and the reason the governement does not want anyone to check is because it helps the economy go up when you spend your money. Quack products are being pushed all the time. Channel 7 news ONCE did research and found that the IB could not keep up with the real world. Hepa filters use 10X the electricity but do more than 10X the work.

the Atomic composition of Ozone is O3. That's three oxygen molecules connected. I don't know how toxic that could be... Even plain oxygen in too high a dose is toxic. It's a strange thing to me. Just like H20 is a necessity for life, H202 will poison you, what's the difference? Why just one more oxygen molecule...

H2O2 is only poison if you have it to concentrated. 90% is jet feul. 3 1/2% is not only harmless but a powerful healing substance because it gives up its' extra oxegen for use by your body to eliminate harmful free radicals. Even your body makes Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). It's what your white blood cells use when they attack foriegn invaders in your body.

BTW. mainstream medical docs will disagree. Let them, cause they never learned it in the first place. Check out Ozone and H2O2 therapy.

Is "ozone" just a name associated with the unique smell that the product gives off, or is it actually the ozone that has a hole in it that is surrounding our planet? If it actually is the ozone gas, is that really harmful? I wouldn't think it would be very marketable if it simply replaces the dust and mildew in the air with something toxic.

Hey i found this exact same one in the trash. I took it home and works great. All i did was clean it up with a wet cloth and what not. And works great. It came from some rich people that i guess didn't want it anymore.

I don't think ozone smells good. It smells like bleach. I owned an Ionic breeze and I sent it back. The ozone smell will buid up in a small closed room. It made me sick after a while. I called Sharper Image and they told me to turn it off if the smell got to strong. How can it clean the air if it has to be turned OFF because of the ozone bleachy smell.

Some people don't like the smell oz ozone, others are ozone junkies. The newer systems on the market don't product a lot of ozone - or that odor. In fact, very little ozone is needed to properly clean indoor air - less than .04 ppm (parts per million).

What's the point of an air cleaner removing dust if it is going to produce harmful ozone gas? You are better off breathing in dust than ozone. Sharper Image so called Ozone Guard front grill is supposed to convert ozone to oxygen. It is just a gimic. The grill holes are so big that most of the air will not even make contact with it.

In the right dose, ozone is quite beneficial for indoor use. The idea is to simply create enough of it to replace the "natural" levels that used to be present indoors years ago. Building codes changed all that, in an effort to save energy. As for ozone in general, if it vanishes from our atmosphere outside, so do we.
