CAn any one help me with finding the date for my CAr Stereo I have a Audiovox MAde In Japan model number c-575b its Am/fm Stereo no casseete or 8 track
My favorite line from this commercial - "Yamaha exceeds even its own specifications!"
- HUH?
I doubt it. Not in the mid-70's when specs and power were EVERYTHING. Nobody was going to low-ball their own specs if they wanted to sell their product.
Don't get me wrong, Yamaha made some great stuff. I owned a few Yamaha components and loved them.
THE tape deck of this line is ugly is the TC820GL but the recording quality is very good for a simple cassette deck the good features of this deck was pitch control, operated by AC mains and internal battery,8 dry flashlight cells and external 12v car cord illuminated vus in AC mais in 12 v is optional using the light key
yamaha made some very good sound equpment back in the day. i have a natural sound series amp, cd player and cassette deck i also have a natural sound series turntable but its a bit on the cheap side so i use a pioneer turntable instad
Look at the dudes left eye. either he got into a fight prior to the commercial or he was hit on the field playing ball. And it's clear he is wearing eye massacre
Yamaha *still* makes some of the best amps available... I found an old 'tube model' on eBay, and I swear it has some of the best, most natural sound I've ever heard...
that looks like john ritters step brother after making this comercial he killed himself....cuz he spend 1.300 hundred dollars on that suit and rent was due.........shit happens
HA HA!!! Leisure suit, I was a little kid than, I had one. I was cool man. He looks like my friends older brother. That stereo is huge. Must put out 5 watts.... ha ha. (Kidding I think it is a CA-1000 120 WATT) That was a golden time for stereos through the 80's. Pioneer made some good stuff to. I don't know why you all are calling it jap crap, because this we the beginning of Japans dominance in electronics for decades. Now even Sony is struggling, but for awhile Japan was very progressive.
It's strange, you look at it, and you're like...where's the CD player...this was 34 years ago. Liquid Crystal Displays only displayed numbers (and you could still buy an LED watch), the Atari 2600 wasn't made yet, the Apple II was just a dream, and most cassette decks weren't full logic. Did they even have linear tracking turntables back then?? What VCR did you get this commercial off of? It had to be one of the first Betamax recorders....
Yea Betamax most likely, VHS possibly which came out first, but not toll 1977 it took off with JVC's version. Any home video machine was rare in 1976. The Betamax was expensive, like $600-$800 1976 bucks. My friends parents had one. It was big. They came out about 1974 and would be dead about 10 years later. The price fell pretty quick in the late 70's early 80's as price wars happened with other types of machines VHS.
Way cool stuff. It's interesting that it seems like a kind of "Hey, give Yamaha a chance" kind of ad. Definitely back in the day. I love that old Natural Sound stuff.

Nice i'm a Yamaha fan i like the old equiment the most, now they have the A-S2000 and
CD-S2000 the look like 70's equipment and the quality of it is also verry good.
I hope that Yamaha go make the big pre and power amplifiers again.

I do like Yamaha stuff. Mainly their cassette decks and obviously the standard NS10M Monitors (the originals with the ultra sensitive hf units) :-)
