  • I have a maxpedition falcon 2 as my emergency bad . I have in it 2 ponchos , 4 chem lights , 3 flashlights plus one on me , some food , water and alot of medical supplies . At home I've got alot of everything but emergency water. That is my big problem.

  • i hade that razor blade and didnt know it had the knife lol

  • I will never understand the fascination with bugging out. Where ya going? Live in a suitable location and hunker down, prepare and fortify. That will be the best option. If you HAVE to go, you are pretty much screwed regardless of how well you plan it out in advance. You can only carry so much, not nearly what you could have at home. You will be a walking target otherwise. Enjoy the apocolypse.

  • Have you looked into "extreme couponing" for stockpiling? Evidentally, you can get many items for free or really cheap when you cross reference, manufacturer and store coupons with sale items. There are a few great video's that I've seen on YT and I thought of you.

  • Good job, Reginald.

  • Good work on vid,Demcad! Keep it movin', brother. Peace!

  • Good advice = actually walking around with the pack longer distances to be certain that it's going to light enough to carry

Using zip bags to seperate your items is good but to make more space consider taking the bandages etc out of boxes & putting them in2 smaller baggies - do U have access to a vac sealer? Shrink down the clothes since those don't need to b changed out unless used or season change those items which need to be rotated out can remain in zipbags in maybe a protective container

  • @AvonCTStyle good tips.

  • Store your water bladder in the freezer when not in use to prevent bacterial growth.

  • well we just use the smaller day packs for our get home bags our plan is to get home and hook up to our camper we can be on the road within 20 mins of getting homethe only thing we have to do is load up some totes into the camper and while we are doing that we will also be filling the water tank we have everything we need to go in it already execpt the firearms and food but we are staying home till we have to get out we have everything we need here but we also have stuff up to hunting camp too

  • you should look into the camelbak motherload. Also remember youll be wanting to take a few firearms possibly so you should lighten the load on the pack

  • About those tent stakes...if you have some scrap garden hose, or a piece of poly tubing around, cut it a bit longer than the stakes, then put the stakes inside the tubing, half from one end, half from the other, you needn't worry about being impaled by them. Also, cut a short slot on each end, then you can slip the end of some cordage into it and wrap it around the tubing, securing it by slipping the other end of the cord in the opposite end of the tubing.

  • ditch the packageing it will lighten the laod and bulk a little bit

  • carrying ammunition will be heavier, all depends what size caliber, and amount, if you are in a situation where you will bugging out with a weapon, the terrain, potential enemy, or hunting, one will be doing, I would have a ALICE Frame and pack. The large size, carry much more, and has potential to add things, and one can place a cargo ledge as well.

  • Great vid as always, just wanted to say that nice addition to your First-Aid supplies would be Benadril for allergic reactions and swelling.

  • Man following his primal instincts to get closer to nature, hunt and gather. I think urban living is for the birds. Help me.

  • Dem you have finally got me prepping. What I was thinking that could be added to a Ebag would be an individuals skill set. For me, I would have some light weight multi functional tools for emergency repairs. Being able to do repairs on electronics, wiring, locks, guns, and other appliances would be as good as gold in an emergency situation.

  • 550 cord is good, but I have gone to carrying bank line. it is aa thin tarred nylon line used for catfish trot lines. it is as usefull as 550, easier to work with, durable, resists the elements, comes in 250-350 lb test, comes on a compact spool, and 350 feet costs around $3 at wal mart.check it out.

  • itl be like that movie "the road" where the dad is walking around in an apocalyptic world with his son and all they have are these uncomfortable backpacks i think the dad has 1 of those

  • "See if I can walk down here without busting my ass" ....LOL

  • get to a surplus store and get some green/camo if you plan to be in the forests. no point being seen miles away if you dont want to be seen ;-)

  • Dem i think this good vid for beginners ,gives them basics alot people think most who prepar in general are nuts !

  • D!! U gotta get a waterproof bag for that sleepin bag!

  • Cool Video..

  • Maybe you boys already thought about it but I picked up a gas mask recently for my bail out bag. A lot of good all this prep work will do you if you're breathing poison.

  • We roughed it in Big Bend, TX last year up a mountain for three days. It taught us alot about dealing with our bags, and about the reality of what we are able to carry in a tough situation. This year, we are going to do a whole week of camping, and the mountain. Just more time in the learning reality saga.

  • Dude, what is the weather like up there lately? Have been seeing you with coat and cap in the last few videos. It must be getting a bit cold. You are right, that you should get familiar with the stuff that you have and plan on using in an emergency. It's just common sense.

  • DEMCAD, awesome, I'd give ye a hug if I saw ye, keep up the good work mate!

  • i recommend getting a machete. Will come in handy for survival and CQC if you ever run into anything/anyone trying to get at you.

  • you didnt check to see if there was any crawfish under the rocks.

  • I dont think it would be smart to be walking around with an ak47 on your back. It may scare off unarmed looters. armed looters wont waste any time taking you out and stealing your shit. If i was gona bugout, id only bring a pistol, something i can conceal and doesnt weigh me down much. Ak47 is more of a home defense weapon in WROL, something you have when your fortified in yer house. Its not likely that you will need an assault rifle, this isnt war, its survival. if ure a decent shot ull be fine

  • You carrying on that hike? Gotta be realistic!

  • Poncho should be on top.. if it starts to rain you don't wanna be taking all your junk out of the sack.

  • Don't carry toilet paper, just wipe using a young fluffy bunny. :)

  • Looks like Flint has not had much rain either.

  • i think everyone should have a GOOD (Get Out Of Dodge) bag. but in a real shtf the last thing you want is to be on the move and away from your resources like all the other sheep. remember even sheep can bite.

  • wow demcad did u take my advice and bring gear! lol or just happenstance?

  • When you need your AK will you mount it to your chest or put it on the back of your pack? I personally mount it to the back as well as the sig 229 to the side.

  • yah you definately need a walking stick

    creeks- water depth

things in the brush that could ruin your day if you step on them (snakes etc) even a hole you put your foot in and twist your ankle

mud pockets that could make you fall

oh the joy of the walking stick

  • One suggestion make something with a strap about the same weight and length as your WASR AK47 and carry that with you as will cause if you have to leave (Bug Out) you will be bringing that with you as will in some cases maybe even camouflage it in with your bag on the side with a sheath and something to act as a sidearm as well

  • 1:14 see if i can walk down here without busting my ass. that would be an interesting thing to see... haha!

  • @DEMCAD Get some antibiotics, Tetracyclene , Bactrim, as much as u can get ur hands on.

  • Hey Demcad if you think you stand out by walking around with backpack. I walk around with a walking stick and a full thermal face mask in the winter. I live in a upper middle class suburb and when cops see me walking around slowly they always jam on the brakes. I guess I'm wearing the old school burgular stuff.

  • My family made fun of my emergency bag that I made last week. :(

  • Have you considered a hammock instead of a tent and sleeping bag?

  • you may want to get a multi-tool, some n95 masks because you don't know what you might walk up on , and you don't want to get sick...carry a small bottle of tincture of iodine 2 % in case your katadyn takes a crap..i'd also carry a box of ammo for your.45 and put atleast one mag in your bag..having stuff doesn't mean anything unless you can keep others from taking it from you

  • Walking 4 or 5 miles with that on your back is a good cardio workout

  • Good video.

  • mine isn't updating feccen utoob

  • You might want to consider packing latex gloves in your bag Demcad, you might want to wear them if you ever have to treat an injury on someone. Also, is that kernmantle rope?

  • Dem , one thing I would definitely do is get a good solid walking stick . Makes creek crossings easier , instant weapon for unexpected wildlife , adds balance and grip when going up and down banks and hills . Other posters are right , use information from military guys about hiking and organizing your backpack . I don't think you can ever get too much knowledge about surviving outdoors . Simple things will save your life . Also a book on plant identification ( food ) .

  • @DAVPK1 Good idea. I'll look into it.

  • @DEMCAD I would agree I enjoy using a walking stick when hiking too. I prefer a wood one and usually just make them from smaller sapling trees which makes them pretty much free.

  • @DEMCAD ya us military guys, especially infantry, are the experts on emergency bags/backpacking. Remember that OUNCES EQUAL POUNDS... I think its funny when my civilian friends and I compare gear and every time they are like "whats that and what is it for, how often do you use it?" they don't seem to understand that quality is the key when it comes to packing. They also seem to only bring enough food, matches, ammo, etc for only a day or two; but they bring enough clothes to last a year lol,

  • @DAVPK1 Was just thinking the same thing. Walking sticks are invaluable.

  • @DAVPK1 I use my late Uncle's home made walking stick, which is just a shortened construction-grade shovel handle rigged with a corragated rubber tip and a wrist strap. Not elegant, but effective. :-)

  • @DAVPK1 you're right! also a good kit and fire one of the most important things to eat and sustain the spirit! in the video a little snub! personal experience and very important a good kit fire (do not need a lot of stuff, but what is it grao must be the best to use it) a good object to be cut (knife, ax ....) and a good rope! soppravivenza and much spirit!

  • step on the rocks, not between the rocks

  • try a compress bag for your sleeping bag it makes it tighter and compresses it giving you greater balance and maneuverability. thanx for the vid

  • I would throw some stuff out...

  • @maxl36 I already did.

  • Seems really heavy to me...

  • I have a deck of cards and some dice in my bag good for killing time

  • @DEMCAD whatever happened to someone using a trademark to cockblock your youtube channel?

  • demcad wheres your hatchet buddy?

  • ¡Great!

  • The box cutter can also be used to commandeer airliners and render the multi-trillion dollar defenses of a nation useless.

  • @DEMCAD,

How would you suggest people survive a deadly viral pandemic that is killing thousands of people?

BTW, there is reason to believe that the government is preparing for population reduction by use of viral or biological weapons. As heads up, it looks like they may be ready as soon as 2012-2013. The elite believe that they own the planet and that we, the useless eaters need to go. I have done a lot of research before reaching this belief. I can just testify that it is true. Thanks

  • @DEMCAD

In your opinion, what is the best way to survive a government created pandemic? I have done a lot of reading as well as have seen many videos that suggest that the government (global elite) do plan on reducing the population by a possible pandemic. This had troubled me, and I am trying to figure out how to go about protecting against it.

Thank you for your very helpful videos.

  • @silverismysuccess government created pandemic? I don't even know how to address that.

  • Top notch Sir!

  • you still dont have a cover for your sleeping bag--- i got an extra one-- i have tried to email you many times but you dont have your email account set up properly to accept emails

  • @jackkoo1234 I'm covering it with a poncho.

  • @jackkoo1234 Watch the video....... it shows the sleeping bag covered........

  • Thanks for sharing.

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • When is your next blog tv show?

  • @LucasB1976 It can't on tonight, because youtube isn't fill people's subscription boxes correctly.

  • @DEMCAD gotcha, kinda pointless to do the show when nobody gets the message you are on.

  • none of my subscriptions are updating!!!

  • @6:30 is that the kind of knife al-CIAda used to hijack the planes? LOL

  • you watch much Man Vs Wild?

  • @WorthlessCurrency Not much.

  • DEMCAD..we've been watch all your vids and are buying a camera But could you or someone show us how your setup takes video so good while you are walking?? keep up the execellent work..thanks

  • i find storing large amounts of jasmin rice being one of the easiest ways to start preparing, also it is easy to make your own gun. also dont forget to store silver and gold for easy bargaining.

  • One more thing you should consider a couple MRE's for your bag...a whole lot more nutritious and energy building than the stuff you have in there now...

  • Too much redundancy still in your bag...example...you only need one knife, candle is unnecessary, and that sleeping bag is asking to get wet and lost...you should find someone who has military experience to help you with it...the packing is also haphazard and messy...if you had to pack up and move quickly you'd lose half your gear...you should be able to pack up that entire bag neatly in less than 30 seconds...

  • @sdrad39 Thanks, I'll add a map to it. I'll make some adjustments.

  • @DEMCAD That bag needs more than a map...I don't see any preparation for inclement weather...you also can't sleep on the ground for too many nights...you need something between the bag and the ground...the poncho is history with a good branch tug...you do good videos, and I'm not trying to shit on your bag because having something is better than nothing at all...but I'm finding tremendous holes in your approach to a bug out bag. I'm going to pass some things along to you, over the next few days

  • Good pair of Danners boots and you can walk right through the creek.

  • Yo...did you get your CPL licence yet? Last update you took your application in... Im wondering if they approved it yet?

    How long is the wait?

  • Are you on blogtv tonight at 8?

  • Good idea knowing you surroundings. Makes it that much easier to avoid danger and find resources.

  • Thanks for another bug out video! This is why I subscribe to DEMCAD!

  • Don't forget to pack a firearm and a few extra rounds for it either in/by your bag....I always keep a CCWeapon with me at all times...end of the world or not.

  • Nice video, take care.

  • Man if you really do have to run for whatever reason just run through the shallow water.

  • Hi Dem, I grew up on monroe street off of grand travers, if you are ever in the area I would love to see a video, I would forever be gratefull and it would bring to life some good memories for an old man,

p.s., I have on occasion noted your frustration when trying to inform people of the world they live in, just wanted to tell you not to let it bother you, it is not in vain, not paranoid, but rather a heightened sense of awarness that motivates you, you may indeed save many lives

    Douglas

  • Is anyone else's YouTube My Subscription page not updating since Friday?

  • @PeakedEarth YES!! Thought it was just me

I haven't seen where "all activity" is. Can you give me a bit more info?

  • @PeakedEarth yes, they are no longer going to aid us in our communication

  • @PeakedEarth yes, me too.

  • @PeakedEarth had that problem....others did too.....still not sure it's working right.

  • That was pretty dicey going across the creek, glad you made it w/o falling. Great video and info Reg.
