  • Good work!

  • BTW, are you using 2-4 on those thirds? I hear some people play it at a speed where I can't believe they are. I'm wondering if the purpose of the fingering is to produce a slight rhythmic abnormality that would be hard to notate.

  • @damon1281 I think Liszt's 2-4 2-4 fingering is to make those ascending thirds more accentuated individually as well as have the feeling of the overall swelling of sound. Using 2-4 1-3 in both hands just makes it sound like a blur at a fast tempo.

  • @OrangeSodaKing

If that were the case, couldn't you just make an effort to play it more staccato with a simpler fingering?

  • @damon1281 You could try, but I don't think it's possible to get the same effect. I've tried, although I'm probably not the most credible source for that, haha.

  • @OrangeSodaKing Ha, I would try, but this is way out of my league for more than just those thirds. I have enough trouble playing two-handed scales.

  • @damon1281 I can help you out with two-handed scales if you'd like.

    Always willing to take tips.

  • great job man! this piece is a monster thumbs up from me

  • This is a tough-y. You have a great start. Looks like the only part giving you any real trouble is the first theme with the ridiculous 2-4, 4-2 thirds. (is that a dysan?)
