Wrote on one of her "stickies" was "Car hit tree".
By using her technique of taking a sticky away and seeing if the event could still have happened; the only sticky you can't take away is "Car hit tree"
Simply,
The car hit a tree,
Without the car hitting the tree, it woulden't have hit a tree.
Im only thirteen, if i can spot that, why can't Ms Hughes?
@ilove2eatshrubs Nahhh, the question is "Why did the car crash?". The word "crash" here is important, as you are confusing the fact that the car crashed, with the one that it crashed into the "tree". If you remove the fact that the car hit a tree, you could argue that the car would still have hit something.
@ilove2eatshrubs if you take away all the "stickies" that in your opinion would of caused the car to crash then after taking them away you can take away the sticky "Car hit tree" because their was no cause for the car to crash
@ScourgeOfGodUK Over-simplified process - yes maybe but have you met the average GCSE student!.. it may be simplified for you but thats why you did a history degree .. most kids have a pick of either geography or history.. so if this helps them get a C instead of a D simplify away!..
Hmm. As a History undergraduate, this process strikes me as being a dangerously over-simplified process. Surely a better method for GCSE level history is to split the causes of an event into long term, medium term and short term, and then decide importance within these catagories?
@TheHavocInTheStreet too bad that for things like history, the a level exam structure is so ridiculously specific that this structure wouldn't really work
I enjoyed it. Very clearly explained and the animated diagrams are a nice addition. One thing I'm not sure about it is why it's a diamond? Why not a pyramid with the greatest number of the least important factors across the bottom? Anyway, congratulations Ms Hughes! :)
HAHA this is my teacher, not surprised she won.
