  • sometimes i´m very proud of estonia´s song choise! :) this song is not typical ESC but - the estonians picked it. the same thing is with the song "Siren" in 2010, what i found really great.

  • Im still pissed that the referii chosed this song when all the Estonian ppl wanted (vanilla ninja-club kung fu) im pretty sure that then we would have won 2003 :(

  • He was right. Eighties came back!

  • It makes me go back the memory lane. Best Eurovison song! I remember when it won the Estonian preliminaries, I listened it over and over. Listened it in the winter while sledging and made me think about the 80's. I was born then and so much interesting happened at that time and am sad that I was to young to remember anything. Instead stupid Turkey won. After that I was depressed for many months

  • I'll always love Ruffus!!! We talked about them for a year at school in Sydney, Australia after the 2003 Eurovision. ESTONIA FTW

  • In 80's, Estonia was a soviet republic. Hidden nostalgia?

  • @Partisan84 No it's about music.

  • This song was so ahead of it's time! Now it sounds brilliant!

  • Fantastic entry!

  • Did they realease this in UK?

    Greetings Denmark

  • Kõigi aegade parim Eesti eurolaul.

  • One of the best songs to come out of Eurovision.

Anyone remember what won that year.

  • Turkey with Sertab Erener singing "Everyway that I can"

  • i like the piano player,-he looks like he,s enjoying himself-so it appears estonians have finnish influences,am i right or wrong???

  • @COLONEL961

The singer looks like he is finnish.. Maybe that...

  • yes maybe,i taped cyprus 1981,monika,i had the video preview too, plus all others,-and greece

  • @COLONEL961

    It's a great song, isn it (cyprus 1981)?? I love it..!! <3

  • yeah, but the previews used to be grea-sound,picture,etct-do u remember them,or u r too young? also, there was only about 20 countries- you heard of andy paul

  • @COLONEL961

I started watching ESC since 2004.. But i am a "huge" fan :P I know everthing about Eurovision.. The winners, the songs, the story of ESC... And yes i agree, The songs until 2001 were the best.. And now we have good songs, but not like the previous years..!!

  • i see,i taped every song from 1982 to about 2000-some people here like bang 1987,-stop-a sort of wham 2 i liked LT UNITED

  • @COLONEL961

Listen Cyprus 1982, 1986, 1992, 1994, 1997.. I dont know if you understand greek, but they are fantastic songs with incredible lyrics..

  • i,m english-irish descent-so i don,t understand greek.but i remember all those songs you quoted-interesting choices,slowish ballads,mainly-elpida-voted one of the worst records in a british tv programme-tora zo-anna vishi,good,troodos mts etc,she looks ok now doesn,t she

  • @COLONEL961

Really? One of the worst records? I like that song..

  • yes-there was a countdown on tv-but i remember that one, because,in my opinion,it was ok-so i don,t know why so many people disliked it,because elpids represented cyprus before,-you remember aspro mavro? she was in monika 1982,your first entry...oh-opera by cetin alp,was voted worst

  • @COLONEL961

    Of caurse i remember..

  • i mean,i know a few words in greek, mono agapi-only love--also i had tapes from the seveties, terry wogan commentating from the radio,,because of watching eurovision

  • anna maria elena

  • @COLONEL961

Its a good song.. Cyprus 1984-Andy Paul.!!

  • whats yr fav all time songs in eurovision,-top 3 only?

  • @COLONEL961

You mean Cyprus entries or generally??

  • generally

  • @COLONEL961

    3. Ireland 1992

    2. Cyprus 2007

    1. Ireland 1993

    Yr fav??

  • i have noted yr comments-i will reply in due course

  • what finnish influences? we have same ancestors. finnish and estonian lands were settled ca 8500bc. we both are part of finno-ugric language family. finnish is most closely related to estonian. both lands have been occupied by russians, germans, swedes...

  • I remember the main singer got beat up, after few weeks of eurovision.

  • physically or mentally ??

  • physically.

  • wow-really,hes looks a big guy, judging by that euro apperance, compared to the others-can you tell me a bit more about it,just curious???

  • suurepärane lugu. ka täna :)

  • :')

  • ive always remembered this song. it is the best song ive ever heard on eurovision. it sounds like a real song! haha. unlike all the other trash you hear on eurovision.

  • Great song :).

  • people keep saying that their countries should of made this song and w/e...

    i don't get that!

This is Estonias song, without this song you probably would not even known Estonia

just....don't be jealous...give Estonia the credit for some of the songs that it has and which you like.

  • kind of funky

  • If Oasis should've played that, it would be world-famous song.

  • Do you really think so?

  • The best of Estonia. EVER!

  • The day after I saw this, I went round every record shop I could find. Of course, they'd never heard of the song. In the end I met their manager's brother outside Baker Street tube station in London and he handed over the single and and the Future Is Now album.

This band should be much more famous than Abba ever was. They're brilliant!

  • WOW!!!

  • WOW!!!

  • This song was ahead of time

  • amazing song - how could it have NOT win wtf wtf

  • selle põlvitamise oleks võinud lõpus ära jätta, oleks mõne lisapunktigi saand äkki... kahju, et sel lool nii halvasti läks,sest kuradima hea lugu on ikka!!

  • I remember this! I must have been about 13, and I loved this, i was both totally in love with the lead singer and the song. omg, it is still awesome! :D good times :D

  • I'm Estonian and I loved this song before it even made it to the Eurovision Finals (I think I was 14 back then). Everybody were cheering for that shitty ass pop song by Vanilla Ninja, but fortunately for me, it didn't make it to the finals.

When this song didn't do good in ESC, everybody blamed Eplik for it. God it made me hate my own people.

I still think, that this is one of the best songs to ever grace the ESC.

  • I liked it too, I still play it.

  • Heh, See oli lihtsalt oma ajast ees. Supper laul ju!

  • btw, I just discovered, why this song didn't make it... about 1:29 he makes a gesture that in Greece and Israel means "be damned". so the votes from those countries and all those originating from G&I, went to someone else ;)

  • this is not true, this gesture is used like an insult in my Country (I am Greek), but the way we are doing it is completely different. We can understand when someone offenses us and when not...Here, this gesture is just coming from his passion.

  • One of my Favourites that year. It should have been To 3

  • Eurovision in Latvia was very good. :D

    Very catchy song.

  • remember watching this live with a friend and we turned to each other and said Wow, this is cool for eurovision, actually a proper song. I bought the eurovision album of that year just to get it and now have it on my ipod.

  • my favorite Eurovision song ever!

  • hey, atleast the brits liked it :)

  • @temaatika yeah im british and is it about 80s culture of estonian politics

  • This song got alot of critisism by Estonians when it was sent to Eurovison, but it is actually one of the best songs in estonian eurovison history. But yes - it didn't got too many points. Maybe it just came there too early - indie-pop hadn't make it's triumph yet in 2003.

  • totally agree. definitely one of my favorite songs on the eurovision ever.

  • I love this song. I really do. It's failure at the Eurovision....it is not really an Eurovision song.

  • parim

  • the main thing that this song didn't make to the finals was that it was way too good and ahead of its time.2003 everybody wanted something like cascada to win.

    love the song

  • i agree

  • Love this tune. Far too good for ESC!

  • far too good song for the ESC.

  • Oh yeah, this is good stuff!

  • This is so totally "Arctic Monkeys gone Eurovision"! Great song, really like the singer's timbre.

  • Very good song and very good singer !

Estonia showed us it's a really a cool country !

  • This song is too good for the Eurovision!

  • I agree!!! It's really really good and should definitely have won!

  • exactly

  • I hear a tambourine during the chorus but nobody on stage holds one, or could play it while he is busy with his instrument. This is driving me mad. It sounds live (the strings are obviously from tape) so there must be a hidden sixth band member. Somebody an idea?

    Great bridge around 2:15!

  • to my mind, in the esc everything except the vocals are from tape

  • I love this song. They're weird looking but this should have done so much better in the contest.

  • top favourite in eurovision history, great, I can repeat that some months later.

And the solo cds of Vaiko Eplik are great!!!

  • sis', you took the words out of my mouth! the best song ever on the Eurovision!

  • Bet you're all feeling sorry u didn't vote for that song back then : P It really is the best song ever been on the Eurovision so far!

  • this song brought the eternal curse on us, since it weve not done that good =/

  • Comment removed

  • saage juba ükskord üle sellest halinast. See, et me pole pärast enam finaali saanud, pole mitte Epliku süü,vaid nende viie t6eliselt halva loo süü, mis alates 2004 Eestit on esindanud. Loogiline ju.

  • dat's a real group...in a poor music contest..honestly 5 years ago i would have voted for them...maybe one of the best songs in the ESC! i hope they keep doin'that great music!

  • Eplik on tore inimene

  • geesh, inimesed. rahunege maha. tõsiselt kuulatav laul, eurovisioonil ei jõua kuskile, sest seal enamus totaalne crap.

  • the 80's are really comming back!!

  • Looved this song so much!!

  • ...best Estonian Eurovision "SONG" ever...

  • best Estonian Eurovision ever. Just listen...it´s perfect.

I remember England awarded this song with 12 points. That says all...

  • Sorry, but you're wrong. The UK gave this entry only 3 points, not 12.

  • me gustó! :D

  • Parim laul Eurovisioonil läbi aegade. CS:S on sind agressiivseks muutnud.

  • Certainly the best Estonian eurovision song in years.

  • I can't understand why this song didn't make to final?! :S

  • The Latvian stage is alot like that of Serbia in 2008

  • Guys!! This was a really good song. Simple and well developed!

Unfortunately, in this so-called song contest gives floor to more booties and theatrical parodies than to genuine musical ideas.

  • if he didnt know what to do on the stage he shouldve asked some1 and REHEARSED

  • Can I download this somewhere???????

  • 2nd best Eurovision song of the last decade, after Athena (Turkey 2004). Great song!

    Greetz from Belgium!

  • The best eurovision song ever....ever!

  • real difficult song to sing!

  • love this song - do they still make music?

  • No they split up, but the lead singer makes great music. Just look for his my space page, Vaiko Eplik is his name

  • thanks thanks thanks a lot - that's really great music!

    Daniel

  • i think they do , but therir not so known now...sad

  • Vaiko Eplik is continuing his career with the band Elite and he's doing better than ever!

  • its been 5 years, this is still the gayest song on my playlist

  • It's not that bad when looking afterwards:)

But i remember the way all Estonians parodised his way of dancing after Eurovision (they used a floor brush instead the microphone), in my house two brushes were broken because of that:P

Well I still have to admit that he looked like he was drunk and wanted to have a pee.

  • Estonia did good in eurovision and then came ruffus...after that we havent got to the finals :/

  • Rufus was fabulous! My husband (from the UK) voted and voted for him :-D

In fact he's dancing like a buffoon right now as we speak!

  • Not bad*

  • Not, will never forget this one

  • loved it, too bad it didn't make it.

  • best

  • one of the few good eurovision songs

  • Best song !! Should have scored higgggghhhher!!

  • for a band called ruffus(doggy sorta name), the lead singer STRONGLY resembles a cat.

  • This song is just too good for the ordinary Eurovision fans =( I love it!

  • The performers are grade A

  • Not a Eurovision song, but other than that I love it.

  • fantastic.

  • Did I say the lyrics to "Happy You" were bad? These may be even worse! Hopefully, the success of "Molitva" will convince folks to sing in their own language, instead of performing in bad English.

  • See on väga hea laul, aga see ei sobi eurovisioonile!

  • only one song from this group but hell is fuking good

  • This is the best version on youtube. :)
