Well their collection is extensive - hundreds of railway units altogether! Of note, they currently have Flying Scotsman in under overhaul, Mallard on display, and a few weeks ago they had the Tornado in - but that's gone now, doing mainline railtours. They've also got D200, the pioneer Class 40, anda replica of Stephenson's Rocket, and the Shinkansen Series '0' Bullet Train... I could go on and on, you just have to visit it to see what I mean lol!
I'm sure you enjoyed it, the NRM is a great place, they're doing a play of the Railway Children at the mo, which is great. I also like going on the balcony in poarticular, which is an excellent viewpoint for trains at the North end of York station.
What trains can be seen at The NRM? I live in London and haven't had a chance to visit yet.
