  • I'd never heard this version before. My first reaction was "WTF, this is not very good," but then by a minute into the song I was singing along and tapping my feet like I always have to the more famous Classics IV version.

  • wow...this is dynamite...LUV IT !!!

  • By this time, Diana's voice has lost that piercing tinniness, had a nice round Soprano sound to it.

  • bloody brilliant tune ....... love it !

  • This is stunning, must be a Brit who 1st posted from the N soul days

  • Love this version after the original, Classic IV.. John Legend and Santana did their own version fabulously...but the Supremes sung it heavenly...

  • they are singing my name!HOLLA!

  • love this song never tire hearing this

  • sure sounds like james jameson on bass. not sure.

  • Love this! Check out also Classics IV version and the Gabor Szabvo version too. But John Legend? No! Please no!

  • John Legend should do a cover of this cool song.

  • I love those nice block chords on the B-3?

  • So it not just me, everybody loves this song, even dianna and her girls!!!!!

  • i loved the original. but diana with the supremes mary flo and cindy were always my favorite group. here you can hear diana mary and cindy. which is rare since they rarely recorded together save for with the tempts. so this is a rare to have cindy actually singing in the studio behind diana with mary.

  • NICE... Mary & Cindy sound Great!

  • this track can also be found on the Supremes Box Set (1999) that has the music of the group from 1960- 1976 including rarities and unreleased material

  • Classic IV - Stormy [the orignal version]...i lOVE this version too

  • If this isnt The Supremes how come its on the 2000 box set originally recorded 1967-1969?

  • this is flo and cindy

  • Comment removed

  • No it's not. Cindy was Flo's replacement

  • Wonderful, Haunting tune! Detroit made 'em best!

  • Way too fabulous!

Thanks for posting this great version by The Supremes!

  • It's a pleasure!

  • No, you are wrong. This is a Supremes track. Mary and Cindy are doing the background vocals. It's been proven. I don't know where you get your information from.

  • He gets his information from his usual source: he pulls it out of his ass.

  • Magnificent Sister Soul!

  • proves mary and cindy should of been on someday and love child among others

  • they chose not to be there for those sessions...the biggest mistake of mary's life. agreed. they would have been great.

  • It wasn't their choice! Motown used the Andantes on all background vocals for the girl groups in the late 60's. Can't blame anyone but the powers that be at Motown. Don't blame the groups

  • In mary's first book she clearly states that she and cindy chose not to be there for the sessions of love child...after that berry used them less.

  • Mary wanted a break and Berry gave it to her, yet warned she would miss the "Love Child" recording. Cindy Birdsong was in Detroit and wanted to be on the recording, but Berry didn't use her. As for using them less, they weren't using them as much before "Love Child" was recorded. That's how it was for all the girl-groups (especially the Marvelettes & Vandellas.) If anything, between 1967-1969, Mary & Cindy probably appeared on more recordings than the Marvelettes & Vandellas did on their own.

  • cheers

  • this is so smooth...love it.

  • My alltime fave Supremes tune :-) x

  • Mine too!
