can i mix adequate quantity of developer and creme colourant in separate bowl using mixing brush for hair coloring since mixing whole quantity will be wastage for persons having less hair like me. whether it is recommendable mixing adequate quantity 2-3 times in separate bowl despite of single mixing??? please advice before i start using. thnx...
@brettwill4u this is a single use product. Once the seals are opened, air begins to degrade the product. Since this product is also not giving you ratios except to add tube 2 into bottle 3, getting accurate haircoloring accuracy will be a bit risky....and for $7.00 bucks it isn't worth the risk in my opinion.
@imranmux that won't work. This is a single use. Once you add the color to 10 volume liquid it begins processing and will end processing within 30 minutes.
@aussiedonna50 Sorry, my comment was removed by mistake when I was trying to clear my cache. For the answer and those reading this, I'll repeat: The color actually does a great job blending the color nicely to the older color on the ends. If you are going with a whole new color then it is best to color your entire head of hair and don't worry about processing since it stops on its own after 30 minutes. For doing the back just use tip of bottle as guide and massage into hair with fingertips.
i just used this product today, in the color dark chocolate brown. it is currently sitting in my hair :) i LOVE the consistancy, i swear, the mess i made is nothing compared to what i normally use. LOVE IT! thanks so much.
I love this product, I use 7R Red Penny, I am a natural redhead, and it is perfect for us natural redheads, I also sometimes mix to two colors together the 6R and the 7R makes a nice color! :) Its a good thing I am watching this video I have to order more of this color! ( thanks for the reminder) and your hair looks great at the end! BEAUTIFUL :) I have to always order my color online, because my local CVS never has my shade 7R I wish they would get it!
Have you ever encountered the problem of dye coloring the scalp as well ? I have never used a hair dye before, but I hear that's an issue - especially with darker colors ?
@ssmadan this consumer version is not as strong as those done in a salon. I have never had an issue of the scalp retaining any of the dye and I used medium auburn in the past, no issues with my scalp.
@jessicaiyer no you can't since it is a product which the chemical process deactivates after 30 minutes and is also why it is safe to use and will not continue to process color if you should forget when you put it on or lose track of time. Also another reason to not mix the colorant with the processing ingredients until you are ready to put it on immediately. You'll lose potency in the product if it is allowed to sit unused. So mix and use right away. Thanks
@krisisnkaos No the gloves are only necessary when applying color, but I put them on first so I don't have to wash my hands first since there is a slippery residue left on the hands.
@xxch3lxx not necessarily. Your best bet is to find the color you like or contact Loreal customer care for learning what best color would suit you and to protect the hightlighted areas from turning a funny color, unless they are natural highlights. But they would give you the best assistance. The number to call is 1-800-631-7358. Good luck
@daniiellee88 all color fades a bit depending on your sunlight exposure and the type of shampoo you use. But as a rule color must be grown out and will not fade to level of where you own natural color will come through since peroxide is also in solution which is what alters the color of your hair and then dye is infused into the hair to make it permanent.
hi i had also used loreal excelence cream dark black i love the colur more than that they gav a protective conditoner with it free i had searched in shops tey said it s nt sold lke tat I WANT TO KOW WAT NAME TAT CONDINER IS SOLD SEPRATELY PLZZZZ TEME I WANT TO KOW IT HELP PLS....
@divya405 to my knowledge this conditioner cannot be purchased separately. Pantene conditioners are quite nice for colored hair...perhaps try one of those.
Wow, what an awesome video! Thanks so much for making it. I use the same product btw and do like it. I know people who spend $60 and above to have their hair colored. As soon as I see a few grays up in my part area, I just run to Wally World and grab a box of this and I am good as new. lol
Katherine, I wanted to reply and express my THANKS to you for posting this video! Most people who've posted a video have dark hair, so to see a person with lighter hair, made me hopeful at doing this process. You're absolutely correct, the L'Oreal color specialists are right on. Due to my lighter highlights I had to start with their recipe of an 8G, then I went to an 8, today an 7 1/2A and in a couple weeks I'll will try the 8 1/2A next. It's so FUN and easy to do! Plus you save a lot of $.
If you are mostly concerned about your roots why not just dye the roots and not the whole head considering the after rersult on the rest of your colored hair has not changed at all. You prob only needed like 1/4 of the product. Just a suggestion.
So was I but once I spoke to the color specialists at Loreal, I felt they knew what they were doing so I proceeded. It really is quite easy to use so go for it.

If I mix up all cream with developer in bottle, my question is am I supposed to use the whole bottle in one go or I can use it multiple time?

I have been having my hair coloured at the salon for the last 35 years and now I have decided that I'm going to do it myself.
I bought the same product (different colour) yesterday and I am yet to colour my hair but I am a bit concerned about doing the back.
Do you have any tips for doing the back and also, did you comb the product to the ends in the last 10 minutes of processing?
Thanks for taking the time to make a very useful video :)
