Two reviews for the price of one!Experienced photographers:This lens is superb - focusing is very fast and accurate and the image quality wide-open is truly excellent. To put this in perspective I have a number of Canon L lenses for my full frame camera and only one of them doesn't visibly soften ...

Now I own the Olympus 45 mm - and it's my favorite lens next to the Panasonic 20 mm/f 1,7. These two lenses are great and they perform exellent on my m4/3 camera.
@ross350tube Because this is a 45 (90) not a 17 (35) and it has a 1.8 aperture not a 2.8 aperture. A macro adapter will not turn your 17 into a fast portrait/low light lens. This is also much sharper with better color than the 17.
I got a EPM1 from the Olympus Penready Project and I'm really digging it. Its very refreshing for me to have such a small camera that is pretty quick and takes good quality captures.
My two big cameras are my MKII and Red Epic system both of which are much bigger and there's no way you're taking out the Epic without a small team.
I think this is going to be my next lens along with the 12mm and maybe the 17mm or the Panasonic 25mm 1.4
Although I don't own EP series, I have been an Oly E-1/3/5 owner since 2008. I am so happy for Olympus. They have made a product that sends a message to retarded Leica and stupid wanna-be photo fools that a great lens can be made for 5% of the Leica cost.
@fvgotch I dont own a Leica or a Ferrari but I'm pretty sure there's a reason for their reputations. I doubt it has anything to do with the owners' IQs. Also, this lens is for MFT and more than 5% the cost of a Leica equivalent.
Pretty amazing lens! My friend just talked about this yesterday, that he was choosing between this and the 12 f2. I'm gonna recommend him to get both! He has the Leica 25 1.4 already I think. Getting the 12 and 45 would complete his arsenal

So you'd say the EP 3 is better than the NEX 7?

Looking to save for the 12mm f/2, 25mm f/1.4 and 45mm f/1.8. This looks well worth the money.

I have a macro adapter in a 17mm pancake on and epl2 and I can get same depth and blur with that...
why would you want this lens if you had a 17mm pancake?

@ross350tube also when you use the adapter on the 17mm you can not focus to infinity

@aluxious Man, this, the 12 and the 25 1.4 = M4/3 perfection. Add a zoom like the 40-150 and you are all set for almost any situation.
