First off, i love this man's music in general. His acoustic songs with Stereophonics were mindblowing. But i'm really not sure about all these low-key slow depressing songs with such bland lyrics. I've only listened to three of the songs on his new album, but already i've heard reference to "her leaving me again" and "walking on the beach underneath the stars".. isnt the whole idea of realising your own album to implant your own thoughts into your music. Maybe he's run out of orignal content.

the songs are very different to stereophonics stuff, and i think that was what he was going for

the songs take a bit of getting into, but the story's are brilliant for most of them, songs about all kinds of people, but with a similar, dark, filmic theme

but the, having heard preveiws of the new stereophonics album, it seems its business as usual
