  • YOU. SPELLED. ALBERTANS. WRONG. IN. THE. DESCRIPTION. HOW DARE YOU. (You can probably tell where I'm from.)

  • on corblund vevo it says he's from us.

  • story in a song

  • love this song and so true

  • I can't get enough of this song.

  • goosebumps

  • Anyone else get a chill up their spine listening to this? Love Corb, especially this and a few other songs. So easy to relate to growing up in the Sask prairies. I'm sure anyone who grew up in the the plains and/or hills can relate to this and most of their songs.

Truly and under-rated group. Keep it true fellas, you're one of a kind!

  • 3 PEOPLE HAVE NO EFFING CLUE!!! 248 people KNOW what great music is--Mr. Lund's music is like gold oozing out of my stereo speakers!!! Keep writing great songs, Corb!!!!

  • y is the top comment some hippy rant. WTF?

  • could you guys recommend some more artist similar to corb lund?

  • @jonyz125 I know theres a few more out there, only one i can think of right now though is Ridley Bent, hes got a little different style but he opened for Corb last time i saw him, take a look at his buckles and boots album or rabbit on my wheel. his earlier stuff is "hick-hop" which is pretty cool too

  • how many people are drunk leaving comments ? i am hahaha but either way corb lund and the hurtin albertins are solid

  • ty i grab it ,,its in my favorates lol

  • fuck yeah

  • im from kansas, listen to a lot of texas and red dirt country...but corb lund matches any of those artist song for song...this stuff is fantastic...canadian country music puts america's nashville to shame, that stuff isnt even music...starting to get hankerin for Canada...what beautiful country!!!

  • @WORM9711 Great Comment, You really do know what you are talking about! Love it, Im From Alberta, and Corb is my cousin, I know his fans mean everything to him.

  • @thanewage403 Hey tell your cousin to come back to southern Alberta, we miss him down here haha

  • 185 Albertans Love Corb Lund!!!

  • such a great song, seems its about global warming

  • He's the man...

  • Love it!

  • seen him in concert twice, met him, hes a cool guy. being from Alberta i agree with the message in all of his songs.

  • I have had the opportunity to have met Corb Lunde.

Twice now in Nova Scotia, I have all his CD's, and can't wait for the next one. We need more singers like him, A true Country gentleman. This song is my favorite.

    TESS, 5 Islands

  • I live in the U.S. an put simply im tired of listening to the crap they play here and label country. I love canadian country music, i cant remember where or when but about 3 years ago i a corb lund song and i have never gone back. Canadian country has stayed true to it's and still has that good o'l sound.

  • One of the Greatest Songs Of All Time

  • wicked song lets all do something to protect ecosystems. darwins nightmare.

  • 2. “Never see the cougar’s so bold, commin in the yard… weather’s been funny 30 years or more…big cats commi’n…no wear left to go…gotta look out for bear.. makes your knees weak… grizzlies where there was no grizzly before.” - In Alberta, due to weather-shifts, man-made or natural, and modern re-forestation practices, lot of wildlife has been moving further east. Elk, moose, bears, and wolves have been moving into the plains from the foothills and mountains.

  • Authentically Albertan – How out-of-control industry has affected our land.

    1. “the antelope seeks / mourns the buffalo in the night” – Little known fact: The antelope do not forage in snow, but bison do, just like horses, so the antelope would follow the bison to feed on bison foraged areas.

After all the feral horses were removed from CFB Suffield, the powers-that-be, realized they has to introduce elk to forage the ground, or all the antelope would have starved during the winter.

  • Corb Lund sings like the way a lot of us think out here in Western Canada.

  • THX RALPH...i got a good place you can shove those kleinbucks...

  • good song, really fuckin good song

  • global warming

  • At Hillbilly. I love Ian and have never heard gim sing it.

  • there's something about this song...

  • Un.Real. I see him live everytime i get the chance and he's soo good, smokin hot too lol

  • this is our country

  • 8:30 Newfoundland (This is our home) by Mike Plume :

Ive seen many nights feel like high noon from the dawn of Saskatoon

There's confederation bridge and butterfly ridge and sudbury and the soux

Ive been snowed in for days on the Trans Canada Highway

And that was in the month of June and this is our home

  • @hillbilly1983 It could be a song by Ian Tyson. That was in the 80s. It sounds familiar though. Let me think about it. I will remember. I may be wrong.

  • i found it thanks though.

  • Corb Lund doesnt get nearly enough recognition for his songs! Most people only know of him as the Truck got Stuck guy! I on the other hand am not one of those people and this guy should be as recognised as toby keith or kenny chesney! CORB LUND FOREVER!

  • fuck kenny chesney and toby

  • amen brotha

  • I HAVE ALL HIS CD"S! IM WITH YOU!!!

  • @irssssss agreed. This man seems to be a GREAT song writer.

  • (Presently studying in Stirling, Scotland)

You lot aren't the only ones missing proper mountains

  • This song is about how all the animals are being influenced by the global climate changes and pushing them into places where humans and these animals come into conflict. He is out protecting his colts sitting with a rifle because "the big cats coming...". And at 2:41 someone dubbed out what he says. "On record he says "white man light a big fire stays cold, redman is warmer, but the old mans old". The dubbed it so say "the white mans old". Im thinking this is controling of freedom of expression.

  • Do any of you realize he is talking about more than just sitting around a campfire and being a cowboy, right? He is talking about global warming. Just havent read anyone saying that it is a good song because of its content. Corb Lund is killer, love his songs!

  • does anyone know where they filmed this video

  • Alberta Canada

  • Them there is the Alberta side of the Rockie Mountains. F**k I miss the mountains :(

  • @timcat100

    *lives in central BC*

    yes, mountains are awesome n_n

  • southern alberta

  • man i love this song and is truly a song for anyone who has sat around a campfire after herdin cows all day and just so ya know we can cowboy just as good as albertans in saskatchewan if not better

  • Too bad you boys cant drive. hahahaha

  • This is truly such a good song. It gives you that feeling of sitting around a campfire after a long day of riding, or herding cattle. When the light of the fire makes everyones faces look eerie. The truth does really come out around a campfire, it's pretty amazing.

  • A chinook is also a a warm wind cause by weather ;)

  • What really hits me with this song is how it brings back memory's of sitting around the camp fire.

"The truth comes out when the fire burns low" that is such an honest statement. Theres something about a fire late at night that does bring the truth out of people.

I think this song should be the anthem for alberta LOL.

  • This song is basiclly the anthem for all cowboys who just finshed riding for miles and miles and finally called it a night and started a fire!! And the fire does bring out the soul in someone and it's the best feeling ever!

  • is he talking about global warming?

  • Hes simply talking about how Alberta is changing.

Not only global warming, I would actually say its as much about deforestation and the loss of habitat for many of Alberta's and the worlds great animals.

  • ok cause global warming is BS

  • ur dumb cause it is true global warming is just gunna hole bunch more shit to happen

  • haha i guess you are right. i am dumb. poopface.

  • wow i love this tune Oh Canada !

  • For years I have been looking for this song! I saw this song once on CMT and i always reminds me of my time in Canada...

    Beautiful song and video!

  • my understanding of the song was a comment on the changing environment...winters aren't as cold, the entire eco system is being affected forcing the apex predators into behaviors and contact with humans ....

  • answers

    1-C, 2-D, 3-A, 4-C, 5-A

  • Rofl! A Chinook is a warm wind, not an animal!!

  • i love fire wood

a chinook is a god dam n fish

  • your an idiot

  • atlease they can shoot them now if the are bothering you or your livestock i wwasnt alound to go in the yard at my nanas with out her siting there with her gun scary

  • the bison were obviously filmed in waterton national park, if i am not mistaken this video was done where i do a lot of hunting and fishing, and yes there are a lot of grizzlies there, and every rancher along the the mountains, especially the old timers, the grandfathers and great grandfathers, will tell you there are way more grizzlies than there ever were before... in a way i figure corb is advocating a grizzly hunting season

  • I grew up in that country. You're right. There is more game in this country than our whole history of settlement. Over management and more feed than ever I suspect. Good and bad.

  • there are alot of gizzlys but the thing corb is talking about is the cougars corb is my cuz and the song is basted on the part bout connie and the cougars that happen about 20 or 25 years ago and the rest is about the good old ranch about 30 mins away from carsten alberta and corbs parents live about a few km away from my nanas house

  • yeah the cougars are a problem at times too, a good family friend has a ranch south of nanton and he had a few yearling cougars living in his hay stacks, luckily they were only eating rabbits and mice and the likes but he really liked it cuz it kept the deer off his stacks lol

  • no kiding a , he spels the stuff out that most people have a hard time saying. tribalcheif you are a very wise man. good song by a great singer

  • Why does this Tribal Cheef guy always have to make so much sense? I thought about the same things, I just never wrote it down..

  • Corb lund Speaks the truth from his heart and soul. This song spells out the mystery of the changing times. The old ancestrial way was to respect the earth and it would provide for us. That is the cowboy way and that is the way of my ancestors. We hold those traditions close to our hearts. Corb Lund is a good man. He is also the best singer to come along in decades. It has been said that one day we will visit in the spirit world together. Let's make our days in this world worth something. How???

  • i dont think

    I quite know

    where this is.

  • Love this song, it's a shame it doesn't see more radio and t.v time in my area.

    (deathdaryl get a life)

  • @Wolfhart24 For some reason he has not gained superstardom like Nickleback, or even as big as Paul Brandt. But he sings from the hearts, about what he knows and for fun, not money...Not making songs that people will love, but songs with meaning, with a real story...like they did long before Him, before his home was filled with T.V.'s and Blackberry's

  • @Wolfhart24 Long before great grandfathers, who couldn't hop on the #3 to Calgary or Medicine Hat, And thats what this part of Alberta is all about...And for some it will always be about that...

  • Why would you write someting so ignorant?

  • Comment removed

  • ugh.... he also said 'white man' does that make him racist too?

how about black man? is that racist?

    fuck dont be so sensitive

  • No shit. deathdaryls probably choked he had a rifle in the video too. Supposed "racial" slurs and guns are bad. Christ.

  • red man is used in canada but not as a racist slur

  • It has never been a racial slur. You are making a big thing of it. Nothing better to do but trade insults on you-tube bud?

  • I don't think you got the point at all. There was nothing racist. Not everything is racist, stop looking for it. We're soon going to have to filter everything we say, lest it be taken out of context by someone looking for something to complain about.

  • Corb Lund is the best band ever

    good song

  • I live in the little town Corb is from, He is my faverate all time singer. I've met Corb before he's great. This song has alota emotion and everything he sings about in this song is true. All his Lyrics are great, as well as his voice. It is a sad song though, but hes right theres grizzlies were there wasn't any before. This song is beautifully written, as well as sung. You Rock Corb!

  • I met Corb here in Raleigh last week opening for Hayes. He was great. A really nice guy, even though I was so drunk that I spilled my drink on him.....oops! lol Sorry Corb.

  • All of Corb's lyrics are great, I can listen to his music all day.

  • Corb lund is awsome!!!!!!!

  • i love love this song, it almost made me cry

  • This song as alot of emotion in it.

  • Filmed right around Crowsnest Pass. I recognize the Burmis tree. good song, too.

  • ya it looks like Pincher/the Pass. :-)

  • can't... stop.... listening...

  • you got to look out for bears when your fishing on lee's creek they come around the bend and they'll make your knees week, there's grizzly were there was no grizzly bears before

  • EEE! This is one of our ideas for a Contemporary Duet Next year!!! <33 ya Maria

  • if we're lucky corb, if we're lucky....

  • my social studies teacher showed this to us, he said it was about global warming

  • Im from PA, not Canadian and I seriously appreciate this music. But don't cuss out your fellow man just because you like other music, and don't like this music. if you don't like this music, then don't listen to it, and definately don't piss everyone else off who enjoys Corb's grassroots country about the cowboy way of life. And for those who think cowboys are dead in America, there not. They still exist in the back 40 of American small towns. They may be a dying breed, but don't count them out

  • i know what u mean dude i am from alberta canada and i am a cowboy a 3 generation cowboy and ther is one other person in my school of 200 or maor that is a cowboy and one other thing i really hate is when people mack fun of cowboys and call us gay

  • Thank you my friend, thank you from everyone who is like us.

  • outalinecowboy i dont know if you are a cowboy but you and me are the some of few people who under stand country music and the cowboy way...repley if you get this

  • Ya bud, I got it, and I'm glad to see people who get that music is more than a tune to dance to, its a way of life, or a life gone by. Either way. And, I don't know if you consider me a cowboy or not and I don't care, Its not like that matters anyway. Comment Back.

  • hey dude got your mesage and you are right it is not gust the music it is the whole cowboy way of life and style you know if you dont mind tell me your MSN addres that way we dont have to talk through youtube in comments

  • Thats the stuff right here.

  • what lyrics, this is great stuff,

this is music, not that new crap.

  • fuckkkkk yeaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Corb-the real deal

  • My favorite Corb Lund song by far!!! well written

  • this song is awsomeand your song good copenhagen is awsome and i think it is the best stuff out there and you guys are awsome im glad you guys play good music

  • Albertans aint stupid.... Fuck U

  • This is what country should be in my eyes. Forget the new country sound I want real cowboys singing country. And canadians like corb are cowboys. Try going to alberta, saskatchewan, or manitoba and tell them they arent. country.

  • im an Albertan and proud of it god bless Alberta YA!!!!!

  • Cord Lund is great. Just found his music today. He sure hits home for me. Maybe some day I will find a man like him...A real cowboy :-)

  • nahahaha

  • What does that have to do with this song? Good music croses lines.

  • You have obviously never been to Alberta...

  • I could be wrong grenzman, but I gather you'd be hard pressed to find an American country singer singing about climate change. :P

  • very true,and slaytanic01, get fucked

  • nominee for Video of the year Western Canadian Music Awards

  • cougars scare me!! just the though of what they can do to ppl.. where i used to live its not unusual to see a cougar walking down the road.. if only we hadnt taken over their land.. then they wouldnt trouble us as much

  • Corb's music videos are excellent, but he's even better live. =D

    Can't wait for Horse Soldier...

  • love this song]

  • I've just discovered Corb Lund in the last few months. His stuff's great and witty.

  • i live in alberta and farm and it rockand so does corb lund!!!!!!!!!!1 yaaaaaaaa!!!!!

  • sweeeeeeeeeeettttttttttt. lo

  • i have been waiting for some1 to post this. yes!!-sheridan/cowgirl

  • awesome video! just saw it at CMT... not a huge fan of his style, but God! that cowboy is sexy!

  • I suppose you might like Kenny Chesney's 'style' better. This guy is the last hope for real country music, its sad you dont like his 'style' cause his 'style' his the dirt under your feet. Keep rolling on Corby.

  • lol bla bla bla... I'm sure Corb is very happy that you take his defense... and for your notice, yes! I like every songs playing on CMT and some on the french side.

  • Corb doesn't need 'defence'. He's OUR defence against the spam that is 99% of what CMT puts out. Kenny Chesney is made of SPAM. Corb is real meat.

  • man I love these guys. Seen them live about 5 times, they just get better.

  • awesome song, awesome video, very true. best if your albertan and a drover(cowboy, rancher).

  • Cord Lund Rocks AWESOME VIDEO!!
