  • Bottom line is none of you have the money to even buy a Supra stock. That's $30,000+ and if you wanted to make it fast as hell another $20,000 or $30,000. And the fastest prelude you're saying could beat a v6 mustang/camaro, only came with 195hp in 97. These new mustangs and camaros come with 340hp from the v6. Try the v8 and get your ass handed to you in your Accord or Prelude or even the ricer famous Civic.

  • @GeNo8252 a Supra can be daily driven at over 1000 horse. i saw it done every day at a toyota dealer. but it is not practical. the cam size of a Camaro at that power would eat a valvetrain up and idle like complete shit. if you can afford to put any car at that power you can afford a daily driver. you should stop commenting on videos that make your butt hurt because your wasting my time and your own. its youtube. get a life i wrote those comments a long time ago

  • @GeNo8252 4000 pounds is too much. just in 2011 Ford and Chevy got smart by making good power out of V6's. for the longest time Fords V6 was making 150 crank horsepower. Dodge is still behind. the whole reason domestics are more efficient (more power from a smaller engine) is because of imports.

  • @pirat024 Sure. Take for instance, the 6-cylinder Ford Fusion engine (Duratec 30). It's a not an Inline 6 but it IS a 3.0 liter engine. Granted, with a stock block, head and internals it would probably shit itself if you tried pushing it past 300-400 hp. My argument still stands because it is based on the fact that Woon's 3.0 liter 2JZ is very, very far from stock. If one were to apply the same aftermarket parts/manufacturing to the Duratec, the hp #'s could be similar.

  • @pirat024 P.S. - I'm not sure anyone would want to throw that much money into the engine. I doubt there is a respectable market for any type of racing parts for the Duratec. Everything would have to be custom manufactured which would obviously cost ass-loads of money.

  • @edd752010 Yea considering top fuel dragsters have a chevy big block or hemi base motor so no, no it would'nt. You can put specialist parts on many motors and make it pull 1500 horses at the crank. Really the only thing that makes this car special is the stock 6 speed it has in it.

  • @nightkrewmustang Pretty sure UGR TT Gallardo's would easily give that TT Ford gt a run for its money ;) esp since some of them are claimed to be making an 1900whp. I know they are making 1500whp and there are some vids saying 1900whp too so! and they have full interiors also and street legal.

  • @jhsupra22 fastest STREET LEGAL UGR Lambo makes 1330 rwhp. It's the owner's and it and the GT-TT were both at TX2K11 this year, the GT won.

    90% of UGR lambos are tuned for events like the texas mile and have Obnoxiously long gear ratios, rarely even making it to 6th gear. they hit 200+ in 5th.

    The GT-TT will make it to 200+ a good ways before the Gallardo does.

  • @hooliganSKATE theirs different kinds of dynamo meters... some use water, sand, air, or hydraulic fluid with gears to measure resistance and calculate the torque and hp based on ignition and what not..

    and the rollers have a brake assembly to stop the mass from rotating after a pull .. certain dynos can load the roller, with enough pressure to simulate road-like feeling and preload on the chassis to get more accurate numbers

    but its hard to play the wind roll resistance when driving that speed

  • There are several reasons. Less weight comes with a single exhaust, single exhausts are less complex//cheaper as well (it's not a V6 but an i6.) Making a large enough single exhaust (what they did) will reduce back pressure enough that twin exhaust isn't needed.

  • the bottom end is perfect for 800hp but there are those that have tempted the 900 mark. Some magazines have it published. If a 1000hp is your goal open'r up and go to work to bullet proof your bottom end. Its stout the way it comes off the bat but slap a 1000hp turbo on a stock supra block and say goodbye. By the way I'm a supra lover and would choose this car over any other in the world, hands down.

  • Alot of the guys use the original engine block. That's probably the only thing that's close to stock about the engine. Yes, turbo is a big contributor to all that horsepower, but they need lots of other mods.

  • Adding a turbo doesn't mean it's not the original engine anymore. The term "Stock engine" would be if they never touched the internals of the engine such as, the pistons, crank, etc. The turbo is just a power-adder modification. It's not on the inside of the engine, it's apart of the air induction system. So technically you could throw on a gigantic turbo and it will still be considered stock if you never touched the insides of the engine.

  • It's all about how much power you get out of the car for the smallest amount of money, not how much money you spend on it. If this is the car I've seen before, they spent close to 100 grand on it and it can only run a 10sec 1/4 mile...which is pretty sad. You can build a 8-9 second car for half that. ..if not less.

Its about 11k for a fully built 2jzgte head, 8k for internals, 5k for the turbo and parts, 2k for the computer, 3k for the fuel system... and he has sponsors that allow near cost for parts or sometimes free parts. But then again... i dont know how much it costs to get the power to the ground and upgrade the suspension and trans to do this.
