Ok, so I'm here enjoying my cheap creme bruele' coffee made in my hamilton beach brewmaster, watching a video about lattes, and behold I have walked into the middle of the greatest latte debate in the history of mankind. I love coffee of all kinds, but I can't help but think that somewhere in the world Juan Valdez and his donkey are laughing their asses off.
@ozzirt The cup was heated on the machine itself so i dont see where the problem is... you cant give out all of your glassware for takeaway customers. The milk was messed up though as you can see he already steamed it and fucked it up by doing it again, looked like a good latte art milk though, not as if that matters as it messed up the coffee and the taste itself :P
@KetchSup You missed the point completely. What I said was, That if you are only drinking out of a plastic cup you may as well only bother with instant coffee. Hence my reference to drinking champagne out of an old pickle jar.
@ozzirt The point is that the cup whether it be plastic or paper, hell even a coconut shell or whatever it might be, wont have a direct effect on the quality nor the taste of the coffee. The thing that made this coffee horrible was that who ever made this video and posted a tag barista under this video should be slaughtered and grinded into coffee himself. Then again... the crema does look nice...
@KetchSup Obviously you have never had a cup of coffee. The cup makes a great difference especially if it's plastic, as plastic imparts a taste of it's own.
But then again I'm told Americans will drink anything out of a plastic cup so long as it's seen to be trendy.
Personally I think you area liar, at 18 years of age you can't yet tell sh!t from tissue paper, and that's a fact. I don't think you'd know a good cup of coffee if it bit you on the butt.
@ozzirt Thats just ignorant.. age doesnt tell shit about coffee making skills. I've been working with coffee for over.. you know what, fuck it, keep being ignorant im not even gonna bother, youtube arguing is like well its like just retarded so imma retreat and go have my mornin cup of espresso.
@KetchSup Yeah,... Like I've had nearly 50 years of experience to draw upon from all over the world (I was a Merchant Fleet Engineer) I've prolly drunk more coffee of more varieties than you will see if you live three lifetimes, and you can tell me that you know coffee.
You are full of it Buster, and I don't mean coffee,...
@ozzirt Cupping.. we do that alot in our coffee shop but w/e. Lets close this up. I really dont care how much experience you got and can or cant you top me in knowledge of coffee. The fact is that the latte in the video was made poorly.
@ozzirt Well im glad for you if you can taste the coffee and give it a grade by just watching the video unfortunately my skills dont go that far i can only tell that the milk was heated twice that kills all the proteins in it which gives the latte itself a soft but unpleasant taste.
@KetchSup Yeah,... you'd know too, I bet you did the whole two hour course and got the certificate to prove it, and now you're an expert.
Remember, you are the one blathering about the way it's made, I just stated that whatever it was, it would taste like crap out of a plastic sippy cup.
No, on that machine which was a La Marzocco Linea, the steam power is always pretty nice. You can easily steam 600ml jug of milk quite quickly. As far as I'm concerned, his technique was sound and perfect.
@JDubs878 Why do you think so? I've tried steaming on average two-headed machine even in little bit bigger jug and with full throttle steam the time was pretty similar. Microfoam was great, and it lasted.

Making "real" coffee and then putting it in a plastic cup???? That's like drinking champagne out of a used pickle jar.
You may as well just have an instant coffee.

@KetchSup You display your great ignorace without great elan and flair, just as we would expect of an 18 year old.
The thing that matters is not how it's made,... but how it tastes, and my point was that it tastes like crap out of a plastic cup.

@KetchSup you obviously don't know how powerful the La Marzocco Linea is, it can steam milk to boiling temperature in 10 seconds.
sontrungton 5 months ago
Yeah only 9 seconds to steam the milk? WTF?? O_o
I think these people need to revise the training, because this looks more like its geared towards speed rather than quality. Sad.

@JDubs878
No, I think it's great.
Obviously you've never heated a small amount of milk using a commercial machine before. Things happen really quickly.
And I really like how there was no silly "tap" on the portafilter using the tamper.

@JDubs878 Ja I'd rather wait an extra few minutes for a better drink than wait a few seconds for a crappy one.
