  • HIGH just HIGH.

  • Grandmaster DST made scratching a record popular when he was 12 years old in New York. I am glad Herbie Hancock incorporated Theodore and his concept into this song.

  • way to be ahead of the game herbie...

  • How is this live when he's wearing different colored pants and jackets

  • Always remember you're unique...Just like everyone else.

  • Whats the other song he's back spinnin?

  • anybody notice how is jacket changes from white to red?

  • Way ahead of his time...I was a teenager when this was huge on MTV. I don't know why I didn't continue to follow his career. Super genius!

  • THAT'S MICHAEL JACKSON SCRATCHIN'...Y'ALL

  • i just saw him live two hours ago, and he plays the same way today!

  • This video is edited, and watered down...Smh.. The original one they had on YOUTUBE, must a been taken down, for copyright infringements.. They had guys in the manikin head and suites on breakin'.. And at towards the end of the song; all the men were doin' different break moves. 1 was spinning on his head, the other was spinning n a circle on 1 hand, and the other was doing the windmill. At the end of the song they all went to a freeze frame.. This video is bullshit. Remove it PLEASE!!!! WEAK!!!

  • @ftnrbhmwk That one is still up. type Herbie Hancock at the Grammy Awards.

  • REAL CHOCOLATE SKIN BLACK MAN IS THE SON OF GOD! BLACK POWER!

  • crackers and mixed ppl spoil real black music and culture!

  • @blackboysports people like u spoil it for all humans. Music and all other aspects of culture should be shared amongst all individuals of the world. That way they can add their own flava and create something new. instead of creating something positive and new for the culture your fixated on prolonging the continual racist culture of europeans so yeah go FUCK YOURSELF. Quit being proud of being black and become proud of being a human being, maybe then we can ALL finally get along

  • @ricardogallegos90 wtf! f'ck off crakkker!

  • Werd

  • Le DJ c'est GRANDMIXER DXT et c'est lui l'inventeur du scratch !!!!! LE MINIMUM c'est de bien écrir son nom RESPECT man !!

  • So that's how the scratch was born? Cool.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song the DJ is mixing with Rockit in the first couple of minutes? Can't find it anywhere...

  • @scotlandposse2010 The song cut into rockit in the first couple of minutes of this clip, plus in Hancock's Megamix is 'The Wildstyle' by Timezone. I have an original 45RPM Celluloid copy in my lap, CEL156. It reads 'Zulu Wildstyle' on the cover and spine, then 'The Wildstyle' on the record itself. This cut features features Afrika Bambaataa, Wunderverke, B-Side and Motivator. Produced by Bambaata and Bernard Zekri. The BEST!

  • Is this video cut from two different sources? Why does he have a red jacket with zippers in one shot, and then a white jacket with no zippers in another shot?

  • @indiemusik seems like it. either that or he can change clothing very, very quickly. while mixing and scratching. you never know, the guy is obviously superhuman.

  • TMF!!!!

  • WOW!!! This is a mastermind!!! He was soooo transcendental!!!!

  • Absolutely brilliant and it is so futuristic even to this day.

  • aller voir ma video : rock JEUSETTE

  • nice wireless headphones.

  • this is so awesome. he laid the foundation for todays insane trippy productions like bassnectar and pretty lights.

  • Ok........this video is from the 80s + it really doesn't matter that he's black or white the fact is, this when the whole DJ thing was turning big. Now days.......People like in their 40s sit back and say, DAMN THAT DJ MADE MY DAY. thanks for posting.

  • UN DIOS

  • @invisiblehax0r You are a big, big, but really big looser.

  • Amazing!!!! What year was this?

  • this is a fuckin classic and whoever dissagrees can smoke my pole! like if you agree!

  • This is all real old school the way it suppose to be. A real show that's all the way LIVE>

  • DJ-ing is a passtime for those who lack musical ability/skill. Why bother learning a proper instrument when you can just sample other people playing musical instruments? HA . Its pathetic.

  • @SSJ3Iain It's called remixing. Not plagiarism.

  • @SSJ3Iain

You mean like rap, and most hip-hop in general......? Throw in Beyonce and her bubble gum crap too.

Although Herbie Hancock is a living legend....maybe the best all around pianist, composer, musician of our time. Homeboy can play Mozart to Jazz to groundbreaking synth work like this....a true LEGEND!

  • i would like to see if the two bit dj's in shitty nightclubs can pull off something like this?? no i don't think so!! this bloke is a legend!!!

  • Did i just drop acid?

  • Super 超正!

  • I'm sorry to say that guy sounds like he only just learned how to use his decks! lol he needs at least another 6 months practice what a nube!

  • @offhishedted

1.I bet you are an expert at DJing, arent you?

    2. its n00b. not nube. if you are going to insult someone, do it right!

  • @milespowerhouse

Thanks for the compliment, and Yes I know alot of people who know me for my Dj name who would agree,

It should not be interpreted as an insult when You suggest someone get some practice, I am lucky enough to have a natural talent I'm sure You have one or two as well, maybe this guy just hasn't found his yet?

  • @offhishedted You're telling a guy from the 80s to get practice AHAHAHAHA. Now I want you to watch this video again and this time pay attention. Maybe you'll see why Herbie's a musical innovator/legend and you're just, wait who the fuck were you again?

  • @offhishedted

    lmfaoffffffffffff

  • THIS is what the word DJ refers to. Not David Guetta and similar

  • @pityisz

    the very scratch beginning...

I`d not wonder if david guetta could do scratches like this guy(grandmaster DST)

..the scratch-tekniques have evolved! watch JFB, RocRaida,Raffik,Hifana,Jazzy Jeff........

  • @HeavyJackSaw Do you know Francesco Zappala?

  • @pityisz

I`m NO David Guetta fan, but I bet he can do better scratches than this guy!

  • david guetta plays it on winamp and then he just move arms...he doesnt know anything

  • @krt1ca Just because Winamp kicks a llama's ass, doesn't mean David Guetta can also.

  • @pityisz Ah, absolutely man. Absolutely.

  • @pityisz I totally agree friend :) - DJ Dez is my favorite REAL DJ.

  • @pityisz who is David Guetta?

  • /w ww.moneymillionnaire.fr/?u=761910&c=fr&rt=8
