  • it is the promise of the Holy Spirit that this Child born unto our distant forebears should also be our wonderful counsellor.

this is my testimony and experience as this Counsellor has sat with me in the horrors of the night and in the night of despair, and delivered me from both,

So i am particularly fond of this number, also as a musician who has performed this work.

All glory and honour be unto our Dread Lord and Sovereign, upon Whose shoulders shall enventually be the government fo all

  • He will reign from Jerusalem in the not too distant future.

  • He is JESUS CHRIST.

  • ELE É FIEL. ELE É TUDO ELE É TUDO QUE EXISTE DENTRO DE ME, EU O AMO TANTO, DEUS VOLTE LOGO VOLTE LOGO MINHA ALMA ANCEIA QUE OS HOMENS DA TERRA QUE NÃO CREEM EM TE O VEJAM EU QUERO DEUS EU ALMEJO SENHOR DEUS VOLTE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOO

  • HQ? xD

  • Joy, pure joy. Enjoyed this immensely. AMEN!!!!

  • Sobrecogedor.

  • I was told that Handel compossed his Messiah in just over three weeks and that Handel himself stated that he seemed, at times, to be in a state of extacy during this composition.

  • MOST EXCELLENT!

  • A very beautiful song I remember as a kid.

  • Looks like 5 Muslim do not like this

  • @ralahinn1 wow man. Seriously? This song is about the pure joy we as Christians get to feel about the birth of the most compassionate, loving, wonderful human to ever walk the face of this planet. And you are spreading hate for some of his children. Love thy neighbor. Thy poor, Muslim, liberal, conservative, black, female, gay neighbors. All of your neighbors. But if you want to hate, please don't put it out in public. It makes Christians look like hypocrites.

  • Está feo decirlo porque es música sacra, pero córrome.

  • AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

  • @diplomat1015 so powerful... divine inspiration for sure!!!

  • it is realy movig. i love it. thank you very much for the publication on youtube :o)

  • I once heard that handel was dancing to this or was it Halleilugh? not sure but I can see where why and understand in what Handel was doing. Oh just to sing these lines and to sing like this to our Savoir would just make my day:) I cry when ever I sing to this! for we know that one day God will come and what a beautiful day that will be:) T.A.H. April 6,2011 was when daddy died and he was a pastor! I know I will see him again! :)

  • WOW!

  • The 5 people who hate this has no taste. Just saying.

  • What a great song!!! It still sends chills up and down my spine.

Here's a shocking fact, I actually sang this in a PUBLIC SCHOOL in New York State. It was called the "Christmas Concert".

    I know, I'm dating myself.

  • i feel like im on the doorstep to heaven...and im walking in! :)

  • I LOVE IT!!! This is what people in Christmas should always sing!!!

  • Eternal music!

  • Para nós uma criança nasce,

para nós é dado um filho,

    eo governo estará sobre os seus ombros;

    eo seu nome será chamado,

    Maravilhoso,

    Conselheiro,

    Deus forte,

    o Pai da Eternidade,

    Príncipe da paz.

  • this is one of my fav songs

  • I love it! :)

  • @Bhoeble: there is a German version "Denn es ist uns ein Kind geboren"

  • "Händel knows better than any of us what will make an effect; when he chooses he strikes like a thunderbolt; even if he is often prosy, after the manner of his time, there is always something in his music." - W. A. Mozart

  • Are there any versions of this sung in other languages, so I can enjoy the music without the religion?

  • For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that we may be given eternal life. Thank you. My human mind cannot conceive...

  • Lost in the Melodious wonder of Handel is that every word is pure SCRIPTURE!

  • how can someone dislike this????

  • Hi @Kass620, I agree with you, for me it's a great piece of music with great sentiments, but maybe there are better versions? If someone preferred another version, they might put 'dislike' against this one. I got a copy of the manuscript when I was eighteen and sung it for a year. I think people might have marked me down too!

  • Isn't that dick guy the one who is constantly complaing on the JK Wedding Dance?

  • HAPPY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

  • @Shanniquitie Thank you and the same to you and yours! > :-)

  • AAAA. 221906Z DEC 2010 Very beautiful thank you for posting.......AR.

  • The Messiah is one of the few pieces where you can feel the presence of something greater than humanity.

  • The three persons who gave this thumbs down are probably atheists with vinegar in their vains, ice in their hearts and an emptyness in their skulls.

  • @helmuthoorn I am an atheist and I gave this a thumbs up. Few compositions have the aesthetic perfection of Messiah. It's sublime and Handel was a genius. I also believe the most beautiful masterpiece of superior craftsmanship in the history of art is La Pietá, by Michelangelo.

It's exciting to think what those masters would have created if the Church hadn't been the one to fund them, and instead focused their mastery on themes with real significance, like most of them wanted.

  • @1971ojoalparche1971 I am also an atheist and this composition still gives me goosebumps.

  • @cvalley2 You have goosebumps because the Holy Spirit has touched your heart. He is real...let Him into your heart.

  • Comment removed

  • @DickCArbiter um, no, I have goosebumps because I can appreciate a beautiful piece of music by a gifted composer, sung by a talented chorus. I also appreciate Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins and Bill Maher.

  • @cvalley2 Most of the great composers like Handel and Beethoven and many others, give all due credit of their masterpieces to God Almighty. Their genius was a gift from God.

  • @1971ojoalparche1971

Try breathing for one day without God.

  • @estaeheli I'm not sure what you were hoping to accomplish with your response to a comment from a year ago, but I can tell you I've been breathing all of my years without any gods. Or is God some kind of oxygen mask or something?

  • @helmuthoorn As opposed to superstitious people afraid to admit the truth into their minds.

  • absolutely beautiful! Thanks for posting this video

  • im singing this for my choir class :D

  • @yoppl42 Same here! I love the malisma I really dont know how to spell that!

  • This man was an AWESOME man of God!

  • Thank (or curse) the Mormons for forever associating "The Hallelujah Chorus" with Christmas...

  • This is an excellent Christmas CD to own.

  • This is beautiful. What was the original language? Was it English like this piece is recorded in?

  • @Gloria0004 Handel was born in Germany but migrated to England. It was written in English.

  • @johnjsmith813 Thanks!!

  • My parents had this entire Handel's Messiah on vinyl! It was a beautiful album and I made sure to get the identical masterpiece on CD. Beautiful.

  • @paxetlux1 I have a boxed set of Messiah which I bought in the '70s.It's Sir Malcolm Sargent, Huddersfield Choral Society, and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. It's available on Amazon as a CD. It's a LARGE setting, which, in truth, I prefer. I'm convinced that if Handel had access to a large orchestra and chorus that he'd have used them for this piece.

  • OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • look at we, as good humans can create,it gives so much joy

  • this chorus makes this heathen want to find his religion ... GF rocks forever and ever!

  • This is european civilization. Humanity struggled for it. And now at Brussels the 50% of births are by muslims. And now the "antiracists" bring all the Third World in Europe because that's what the Capital want. EUROPE IS HAENDEL, IS ARISTOTLE, IS VOLTAIRE, IS GOETHE, IS MARX, IS KANT, IS ROBESPIERRE, IS MONET, IS DANTE.

EUROPE IS NOT "UNITED COLORS OF BENETTON".

    SAY NO TO GLOBALIZATION.

    CAPITALISM IS THE PLANET'S CANCER.

  • The ULTIMATE Christmas carol

  • @helmuthoorn more than that!!!

  • @helmuthoorn My choir class is singing this for Christmas ! Haha ! Hard song to learn !

  • @christinaaguilera497 its not hard at ALL its really easy to learn i already know the whole entire thing

  • @yoppl42 I already know it! When you first ty it's difficult but nah, its fun!

  • I love the Ohhh's that the sopranos sing.

  • This is my favorite chorus from the Messiah !!! Beautifully sung and whenever I hear it, I just get shivers because it touches my soul !!!

  • Mozart also thought very highly of Haendel. Dont beleive that 80s movie, Mozart loved Haendel

  • Recordemos que Mozart hizo un arreglo del Mesías de Handel en alemán

  • @ericbelify You're absolutely right. Mozart wrote, "Händel knows better than any of us what will make an effect; when he chooses he strikes like a thunderbolt; even if he is often prosy, after the manner of his time, there is always something in his music."

  • Ya, Beethoven thought highly of Handel, saying that the genius of the latter lay in his ability to create great stuff from simple means etc. (or words to that effect). sd goh (malaysia)

  • On his deathbed, Beethoven pointed to the shelf which held all of his Handel manuscripts and said to his visitor, "There is Truth..."

  • Indeed beethoven is right.

  • @rioamigo. That is absolutely fascinating & i have never heard that before. I do know that Beethoven regarded Handel as "The master of us all", which is a tremendous accolade coming from such a man as he.

  • @rioamigo oh how i LOVE THAT!!!

  • @rioamigo

Haha, He meant that if you pulled the third manuscript on that shelf, a secret doorway would open. This of course would lead to a heap of Masonic/Illuminati clues and so on hidden in what we common idiotic folk understand to be "Christianity" which would disprove the well-held understanding of our collective past. DUH!

  • @rioamigo

Yes he did. Most people do not know that Handel was Beethoven's favorite composer. When you hear the Messiah you know why.

  • @coolmamac He also went so far as to say that he could almost bare his head and kneel at his grave! (I know how he feels).

  • @rioamigo REALLY??????? Pls Reply!!

  • I love it! It'ss beautiful and really happy sounding! ^^

  • Amazing!!

  • Really great

  • I love classical music!

  • great piece! the tenors are really rockin' out on this one, lol.

  • Hallelujah! :D

  • I like very much this interpretation. It is wonderful!

The everlasting Father, Prince of Peace!
